In short
Hado is a Western-style course restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, and its dinner courses are by reservation only. After a weekend evening out in Haenggung-dong, the writer booked Hado's basic course (45,000 won per person): a rapeseed-flower bouquet salad, bisque pasta and squid ink pasta, chicken breast and chuck flap sous vide steaks (chuck flap 21,000 won extra), and Earl Grey gelato. With generous portions and a lovely atmosphere, Hado is a restaurant worth recommending for an anniversary date.

I came to Hado as a date after wandering around Haenggung-dong on a weekend evening!!

Hado lunch and dinner menus, and how to book
Hado does Western-style course meals, but lunch also has à la carte dishes, so it seems easy to drop in haha. Right now the lunch sets are a good-value pasta set and the Hado set, and the dinner courses are the basic course and the spring course. Courses are available by 100% reservation only!

Hado's summer course, added from July
From July Hado adds a summer course too, so keep that in mind if you're visiting haha. The summer course is packed as shown below, so it looks great for a Haenggung-dong date 🤍
- Pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart
- Korean melon and scallop salad
- Chilled chogye (cold vinegar-mustard chicken) pasta
- Corn soup
- Chicken breast sous vide steak or chuck flap sous vide steak
- Peach mousse cake
- Tomato granita

Hado's atmosphere and seating
Hado, a pasta spot in Haenggung-dong, has such a good atmosphere that it's perfect for a blind date or a date 🤍 There are bar seats and regular tables haha.

What comes in Hado's ₩45,000 basic course?
Hado's basic course is ₩45,000 per person and consists of a starter, pasta, steak and dessert. I went for the dinner course and booked ahead! I reserved the basic course haha. It was nicely put together, from the starter to the main, steak and dessert haha.
- Signature salad
- Choice of pasta: bisque / carbonara / vongole / pomodoro / squid ink pasta
- Choice of steak: chicken breast sous vide steak / chuck eye roll sous vide steak
- Gelato

For pasta I picked the bisque and the squid ink pasta. For steak I picked one chicken breast sous vide steak and, since it was an option when I visited, one chuck flap sous vide steak, so one of each haha. The chuck flap sous vide steak was ₩21,000 extra!

Wines to pair with the course at Hado
Hado, a date-course spot in Haenggung-dong, also has wines that go well with the course haha. Here's the lineup, so take note if you're visiting!!
- House wine, red / white
- Signature wine: white lemon spritzer
- Raspberry red sangria

Hado's signature salad: a rapeseed-flower bouquet starter
The signature salad that starts the Hado course uses egg white and yolk to represent rapeseed flowers, with sesame oil adding a nutty note. The course at Hado, a Haenggung-dong date spot, starts off with this and it's so pretty!

It's a crispy bouquet salad made with spring roll wrappers, and it's so pretty, I loved it 🤍

How do Hado's bisque pasta and squid ink pasta taste?
Hado's bisque pasta has a deep savory taste and strong butter flavor, while the squid ink pasta felt like a spicy oil pasta with baby octopus. After the starter signature salad, the main, pasta, arrived haha. The squid ink pasta and the bisque pasta came out, and both were so neat and pretty 🤍

The bisque pasta is made by stir-frying shrimp shells and innards together, and maybe that's why the savory depth was insane...🤍 It wasn't greasy, just savory with a buttery richness, and I loved it haha.

The squid ink pasta comes with baby octopus, and I worried a squid ink pasta might be bland, but the seasoning was just right and so good...🤍 It felt like a spicy oil pasta and I really enjoyed it haha.

Is the Hado course too small?
Since it's a course I wondered if the portions would be small, but by the time I got through the steak I was full haha. It's a total yes from me as a Haenggung-dong pasta spot, so I think it'd be great to come just for pasta at lunch too!

Hado's chicken breast vs chuck flap sous vide steak
After the pasta, the next main in the Hado course is steak!! I ordered the chicken breast sous vide steak and the chuck flap sous vide steak, and even the garnishes were neat and the plating was great haha. The sauce poured over the chuck flap steak is a red wine sauce, and it goes so well with the beef 🤍

The chicken breast sous vide steak is super tender, and with the sweet pumpkin purée it was incredible...🤍 Even the crispy quinoa had a great texture!

The chuck flap steak comes with potato purée, roasted carrots and garlic, which go so well with the beef! The meat was cooked just right and tender, and I enjoyed it so much 🤍 The July course also lets you choose the chuck flap steak, so I recommend trying it!!

Both the chicken breast and chuck flap steaks were great combinations, so ordering one of each was really nice haha.

Dessert in Hado's course: Earl Grey gelato
The last dessert of Hado's basic course was Earl Grey gelato topped with caramel sauce and chocolate chips. After finishing the mains, the Earl Grey gelato with caramel sauce on top had great flavor...🤍

The chocolate chips paired so well with the Earl Grey too 🤍 The whole course was so solid that it was a great Haenggung-dong date course!! If you're looking for a Haenggung-dong spot for an anniversary, or a Suwon Haenggung-dong date course, I totally recommend Hado 🤍
