Why did I try a charcoal cleansing balm for combination-oily, dehydrated skin?

To reduce irritation, I usually cleanse mainly with water and double-cleanse with an enzyme cleanser. As summer arrived, the sebum in my pores, blackheads, and whiteheads started bothering me more, so I tried this cleansing balm made with Korean charcoal.

What were the packaging and scent like?

It was an easy size to hold in one hand, so it did not feel burdensome to keep in the bathroom. It came with a dedicated spoon, so I could use it without scooping it out directly with my fingers, and its broad front made it easy to scoop up the product.

When I opened the lid, it had a pleasant scent a bit like mint. A subtle fragrance remained after use too, and it did not feel artificial to me.

Did it leave little residue when I washed with the cleansing balm alone?

My makeup is not particularly heavy, but I normally double-cleanse because I worry about getting everything clean. This time, I used only the cleansing balm, rolling it over my whole face and rolling once more over the heavier areas. The whole process took about 30 seconds.

After adding a little water, I rolled it again, focusing on my T-zone where sebum production is high, then rinsed with lukewarm water. For me, there was almost no slipperiness or residue left behind, and my skin did not feel severely tight afterward, so it felt moisturized.

Will I keep using it for blackhead care?

I was satisfied with the cleansing feel and overall experience after one use. Since sebum, blackheads, and whiteheads are still on my mind, I plan to keep using it consistently for the time being.
