So many of you are looking for real fire-flavor jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) in Goyang, right?! I went out toward Seooreung this time and discovered a new favorite jjamppong spot!! (I actually first heard about it from a taxi driver's recommendation!)

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. People were lining up here starting from Saturday morning, so I was curious just how good it could be — and after trying it myself, I instantly understood why there's a wait haha. From parking to service, they take care of every little detail, so let me lay out the key points you should check before visiting! :)

Parking and seating at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch has a spacious dedicated lot in front that fits 30+ cars. Parking is always the biggest worry when driving somewhere, right? So even nervous drivers can come here comfortably.

Once inside, the place is genuinely huge, so it's perfect for group gatherings too!!

What stood out most to me was how thorough they are about hygiene. Water and side dishes like pickled radish come in neat single-use packs, no reuse worries haha.

Isn't this kind of careful attention so nice these days? :)
The owner learned the ropes from the bottom up at the head company before opening this place, so the whole system felt really well organized. It's an open kitchen too, so I could peek at the cooking process — and it was managed so cleanly!
How do the Jijeon Jjamppong and soondubu jjamppong noodles taste?
I ordered one each of the signature Jijeon Jjamppong and the Soondubu Jjamppong noodles at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. They say they use 100% domestic red pepper powder here!! Maybe that's why even the color of the broth felt different from the start haha.

The Jijeon Jjamppong is built on a meat-plus-seafood stock, so the broth is really thick and rich.

All the seafood shells were already removed for me, so I could just eat without any hassle — so convenient and nice!!
The noodles are low-temperature aged too, so they stay springy all the way through. The soondubu jjamppong is mild enough that even spice wimps could give it a try! With the soft tofu in it, the broth turns much gentler, so even kids could probably eat it.

That said, if you actually like spicy food, I'd recommend bumping up the spice level when ordering the soondubu!! At the default level, it's mild enough for a little kid haha.
Mid-post recap: the broth is amazing, and with the soondubu dish, adjusting the spice level is the key!!
Small sticky rice tangsuyuk and the free jjamppong mandu
Jjamppong alone felt like it wasn't quite enough, so we also ordered the small sticky rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) — and that turned out to be a genuine masterstroke!! The texture is totally chewy and clings together in your mouth, easily the best tangsuyuk I've ever had haha.

Even the small size came with a generous portion, enough for the two of us to eat until we were stuffed. The sauce wasn't too overpowering either and paired perfectly with the meat, the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more.
And then, given to us as a complimentary service item —

the jjamppong mandu (dumplings) was genuinely a special treat!! One bite and the spicy juices burst out, reminding me of dumplings I once had in Gangneung. It was good enough that next time I'd want to order a plate of just these dumplings by themselves :)
True to a proper Goyang local favorite, they don't do delivery at all, only committed to giving the best flavor to guests who visit in person — you can really taste that philosophy in the food's quality. The crispness of freshly fried tangsuyuk is something you can only really experience by coming in yourself!!
What the unlimited self-bar and dessert corner include
I think one of the biggest draws of Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is this self-bar!! You know that feeling when the broth is so good you want to mix rice into it?

Here, rice is served unlimited so you can really fill up haha. The self-bar isn't just rice either — you can freely help yourself to fresh toppings and side dishes.

No need to order drinks separately either, since iced tea and blue lemonade are served unlimited!! Given today's prices, isn't this kind of service really touching? :) Before you head out after your meal, make sure to stop by the dessert corner.

From cool ice cream to a range of coffees, everything is perfectly ready!! Finishing with sweet ice cream cleans your palate right up haha (certified Goyang local favorite).
Mid-post recap: unlimited rice and drinks plus dessert ice cream make this a perfectly great-value restaurant!!
What to know before visiting Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch
If you're looking for a family dining spot near Seooreung, Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch really seems like the answer. The place is so big that turnover is fast, so even if there's a wait, it clears quickly!! Being open year-round means you can also drop by whenever it's convenient, which is another big plus haha.

I was impressed by the attention to detail when I saw they even have hair ties and disposable aprons for women :) Since they don't do delivery, you can really trust the freshness and quality of the food. I'm planning to come back soon and try bumping up the spice level myself haha. If you're on the hunt for a good meal in Goyang, I hope you enjoy a delicious bowl here and have a great day! :)
