Pocheon Italian restaurant: carbonara and steak at Eoneu Dal

In short

Eoneu Dal is an Italian restaurant in Sin-eup-dong, Pocheon, serving pasta and steak. I ordered Original Carbonara and Grade 1 Korean beef striploin steak, and loved the rich egg yolk, crisp bacon, and satisfying medium-rare cook. Verdict: A lovely pick for anniversaries, dates, or family meals.

Eoneu Dal, an atmospheric restaurant in Sin-eup-dong, Pocheon

I visited Eoneu Dal for some great pasta in Pocheon. The steak is delicious here too, so come here if you are looking for an atmospheric restaurant in Sin-eup-dong, Pocheon. I think it would be lovely for a special anniversary or a blind date as well.

Ground-level parking lot at Eoneu Dal

The ground-level parking lot is nice and roomy, so you do not need to worry about finding a space! It has been relaxed every time I have visited, and even when it is busy, there always seem to be one or two spaces left.

Spacious interior of Eoneu Dal
Interior seating at Eoneu Dal

The interior is quite spacious, but it is popular enough to be nearly full even at weekday lunch. It has not quite meant a wait, though I imagine you may have to wait during peak hours on weekends. I arrived around 11:45, and it filled up quickly while I was eating.

Waiting area at Eoneu Dal

There is a waiting area like this too—doesn't it look a bit like bus-stop seating? That feels stylish in its own way.

Large group table at Eoneu Dal

And if you are visiting as a group, there is a large table that seats nine! Still, it would be best to make a reservation if you can, right?

Family seating at Eoneu Dal

They even have high chairs, so it seems like a nice place for families with children too.

Table setting with tableware and bread course at Eoneu Dal

From the bread course to Original Carbonara

This pasta spot in Pocheon, this restaurant in Sin-eup-dong, even has elegant tableware. First, before the meal, the bread course arrives!

Warm bread course

The bread course had just come out of the oven, so it was wonderfully warm. It would be delicious dipped in the pasta sauce too.

Whenever I come here, I always order the Original Carbonara for ₩20,000. This time, I also tried the special Grade 1 Korean beef striploin steak for ₩51,000. By the way, the mushroom cream pasta is delicious too. It comes with a ridiculous amount of mushrooms. It is not cheap, but they do not skimp on ingredients, so it does not feel like money wasted.

Original Carbonara and striploin steak
Beautifully plated pasta

As expected, this really is a great pasta spot in Pocheon. True to a Sin-eup-dong restaurant, the plating is so pretty, and there is a ridiculous amount of bacon, so it does not feel overpriced. Since it is the original version, it is made lightly with egg yolk rather than cream; it is so nutty and not at all heavy. That is why it is my favorite menu item. Aren't the noodles twisted into such an artistic little nest? I order this every time I come.

First, break the egg yolk and mix it in well. The color becomes even more appetizing, and it gets wonderfully nutty too.

Carbonara mixed with egg yolk

The noodles were springy and perfectly cooked. One bite really maximizes that light, nutty flavor; compared with other pastas, it feels less fattening, so I order it more often. And the sauce does not become tiresome or cloying.

Springy noodles and crisp bacon

Seriously, all that bacon in here was insanely crisp—it felt like eating chips. Bacon in other pastas is usually soft, but this crispness is exactly my thingㅠ I did not leave a single bite behind.

How was the Korean beef striploin steak cooked?

And now, the long-awaited Korean beef striploin steak! There were exactly four pieces, but all four were thick and large, so the two of us felt reasonably full after just two pieces each. It was cooked exactly medium-rare, the way I like it, so it was tender and nutty.

Medium-rare Korean beef striploin steak

Cut it into bite-size pieces and yum yum~ It was delicious with the potatoes and went so well with the whole-grain sauce too! Try it with the asparagus, roasted cherry tomatoes, or garlic. Seriously, such a good combination.

I was really happy with the doneness. Since it was so large, I cut one piece in half to eat it. So thick and full of juices~

Thickly sliced striploin steak

I think it tastes best with the sides. Asparagus and potatoes are a heavenly pairing.

Zero Cola served in an ice-filled cup

To avoid gaining weight, I ordered Zero Cola, and they thoughtfully served it in an ice-filled cup. The waitstaff were kind too, and it feels like such a pretty restaurant for women to visit.
