Daejeon pork cutlets with a cheese timer: Gatjidong Noeun Branch
In short
Gatjidong Noeun Branch is a Korean restaurant in Yuseong, Daejeon, serving pork cutlets and curry rice bowls. A friend and I ordered karaage curry rice bowl for 10,800 won and the signature half-and-half pork cutlet for 12,800 won, then checked out the children’s amenities and self-serve soup bar. Gatjidong Noeun Branch is a thoughtful choice for a quick lunch or a meal out with children.

The place my friend and I visited for dinner this time~~ was Gatjidong Noeun Branch (갓지동 노은점)!
📍 Gatjidong Noeun Branch 🚩 53 Eungubi-nam-ro 7beon-gil, 1F, Unit 102, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, South Korea ⏰ Daily 11:00–21:00 Last order 20:30 Closed on public holidays

🚙 There are a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant, and you can use nearby street parking! All the spots were already taken when I arrived, so I parked on the street.

The banner out front shows the menu and prices. I really like places that list their prices~~ Good. But I wanted to try the Gatjidong assorted cutlet, and it wasn’t on the kiosk when I went to order? Such a shame~~

Inside Gatjidong Noeun Branch and its seating
When you open the door and walk in, you see this neat interior. The space is laid out in an L shape.

I think there are about 10 tables in total!

Photo review event
Gatjidong Noeun Branch is running a photo review event. Write a photo review and you can draw a nostalgic prize ticket with no losing tickets!! If you post a review with a photo on Kakao Map or Naver, they give you a draw ticket.
- First prize: family meal voucher for four
- Second prize: meal voucher for two
- Third prize: a soft drink or imported draft beer
- Fourth prize: a side dish
- Fifth prize: one bag of snacks
Those are the prizes! Since there are no losing tickets, I think it would be nice to give it a try! Haha

The restroom is in the building outside the restaurant; the men’s restroom is on the left and the women’s is on the right! There’s Wi-Fi too. I think the password is the restaurant’s phone number!

Kiosk ordering and children’s amenities
You order from the kiosk at each table!

This was such a thoughtful touch! They have children’s amenities: furikake rice for kids, children’s vitamins, and baby tableware. It’s perfect for a family meal out with children, right~~ They’re provided free, so visitors with children can use them~! So considerate~~ They also have lunch specials! I think it would be great for an office-worker lunch too.

What you can pick up at the self-serve station
This is the self-serve station. There are disposable aprons and baby bibs too. It was my first time seeing bibs at a restaurant, so that was interesting.. There are high chairs as well! You can also serve yourself rice, guk (Korean soup), and soup. I love that they have soup~~!

It’s delicious old-fashioned Western-style soup. It had been a while since I’d had it, so it tasted even better..

Karaage curry rice bowl and half-and-half pork cutlet
The spoons, forks, and knives are in the drawer, and there’s an hourglass for the cheese pork cutlet. Looking at it now, there’s a typo? I think “at its most delicious” was what they meant. For the cheese pork cutlet, turn the hourglass over, then cut and eat it a piece or two at a time. There are hair ties hanging by the kiosk too, so use one if you want to tie up your hair! We ordered the karaage (chicken) curry rice bowl (₩10,800) and signature half-and-half pork cutlet (₩12,800). The food came out so quickly!! I think it would be great for office workers needing a quick lunch too haha

First up is the karaage curry rice bowl! It comes topped with rice, curry, karaage, and green onion. The rice and curry weren’t too hot, so it was easy to eat right away! I mixed the rice and curry together and topped it with karaage~

Next is the half-and-half pork cutlet! As instructed, turn over the hourglass and cut it once all the sand has run through. The cheese stretches sooooo much~!! You can just cut and eat the pork cutlet beside it.

This is what it looked like after cutting it all up—and there’s a little less of the cheese pork cutlet because I ate some already,, hahaha

Here’s the cross-section of the regular pork cutlet! Just for reference!

September offers and visit notes
At the entrance, there are toothpicks and first-aid medicine—maybe for when a child gets hurt,,,? There are also designated-driver business cards! Gatjidong Noeun Branch is running September offers too! Get 2 croquettes when 2 or more people order at least ₩20,000! Get draft beer for ₩990 when you order a meal after 5 p.m. on weekdays! Get 5 pieces of karaage when you visit after making a Naver reservation! Keep these in mind!! (Coupons cannot be combined)
