After-dinner Sinnonhyeon café, pistachio cake: Something About Coffee
In short
Something About Coffee is a large bakery café on Gangnam-daero 102-gil near Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul, spanning the basement to the 3rd floor. On a weeknight after dinner with a friend, the writer ordered pistachio cake, an angbutter (red bean paste and butter) scone, a café mocha and a black sesame cream latte, and found Something About Coffee packed even on a weekday evening. A recommended bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station: Something About Coffee in Gangnam, my regular coffee spot

Hours and atmosphere at Something About Coffee near Sinnonhyeon Station
Something About Coffee (썸띵어바웃커피) near Sinnonhyeon Station is open from 11:00 to 22:30, and I hear dine-in is possible until 22:00. It's a big bakery café running from the basement up to the 3rd floor, so it's great for hanging out with a group of friends, and also perfect for going alone to recharge.
I think I go here once or twice a year without fail! This time, too, I had dinner with a friend and didn't want to just say goodbye, so we stopped by haha

What ingredients go into the bakery at Something About Coffee?
I hear the bakery here is made with French gourmet butter, French chocolate, Guérande salt, Philadelphia cream cheese, 100% dairy fresh cream, French black tea leaves, 100% almonds and more. Taste aside, these are good ingredients, so it's a bakery you can trust.
The bakery range is pretty varied too: cookies, tarts, financiers, scones and more, easy things you can enjoy with your coffee! People say blind dates often happen at cafés these days, so wouldn't it be lovely to have dessert and coffee at Something About Coffee haha

Menu and the signature cream coffee at Something About Coffee
The menu has all kinds of drinks: coffee, cream coffee, tea, ade, and even my favorite, café mocha! The cream coffee seems to be the signature, so I ordered a black sesame cream latte too, and it was nutty and delicious haha
Not just the bakery, the slice cakes are varied too, and everything looked so good,, it's dessert heaven haha There are lots of fruit slice cakes too, so they seem great for something fresh!

Are there seats on a weeknight evening? Indoors and the terrace
Inside, Something About Coffee is spacious across the basement and floors 1 to 3, and the terrace is open too. On a nice day, sitting outside in the sunshine with dessert and a coffee must be so good haha
It was too hot so we sat inside, and on a weeknight evening it was totally full, is this for real..? A Sinnonhyeon Station café hotspot, confirmed.. The lighting and mirrors here and there make photos turn out well, so if you come on a date, take some pictures.

What we ordered with a friend: pistachio cake, angbutter scone, café mocha, black sesame cream latte
This visit to Something About Coffee, we ordered a pistachio cake, an angbutter scone (red bean paste and butter scone), a café mocha and a black sesame cream latte :) Hehe, a generous spread of coffee and desserts with my friend!
The café mocha was bittersweet and tasty, and the black sesame latte was super nutty and rich!

Reserving the assorted slice whole cake at Something About Coffee
The signature whole cake at Something About Coffee, the assorted slice cake, is a mix of cakes made with seasonal fruit and ingredients. It comes with 8 random slices, and I hear you can request up to 2 of the same kind of slice you want. It seems like a good one to reserve as a birthday cake, with all the fruit cakes in one.
There are lots of big bakery cafés near Sinnonhyeon Station, so after a meal I often agonize over where to go, but I keep ending up at a place that's this spacious, comfy, and has great bakery and coffee haha

What to order at Something About Coffee
My top pick at Something About Coffee is the pistachio slice cake, and my friend's pick is the angbutter scone. The pistachio slice cake is honestly exactly my taste, so I recommend it completely. My friend said the angbutter is totally delicious haha
Yum, Something About Coffee is already so famous you've probably heard of it at least once! There's a reason crowds never stop coming haha The selection changes a little each time and the bakery never disappoints, so I can confidently bring friends here.
And the black sesame latte is something I order every time, super nutty and amazing! If you're stuck choosing a café near Sinnonhyeon Station, I recommend Something About Coffee.
