Do you know the Haenggung-dong pizza place with great atmosphere and great food? Today I'm introducing Low Five (로우파이브) Haenggung branch, a Western-style restaurant in Haenggung-dong where you can get pizza and pasta, plus insanely good kimchi fried rice (it's a crime not to try it!) (ว˙∇˙)ง It's already famous, but for anyone still wondering whether to go, I've put together what to know before you visit: atmosphere, waiting, and the menu!

Where is Low Five Haenggung branch?

Exterior of Low Five Haenggung branch on the Seonggyeong Library alley

Low Five Haenggung branch is on the Seonggyeong Library alley, just keep walking up past the Starbucks in Haenggung-dong. The exterior blends with plants and it feels charming from the entrance :)

It suits the cute alley vibe of Haenggung-dong too, so it's a nice stop for a meal on a date,

Low Five weekday wait: how long did I wait?

I visited Low Five Haenggung branch right at Friday opening time and waited about 30 minutes behind 5 groups before getting in. It opens at 11:20, and when I arrived at 11:50 the place was already full with 5 groups ahead of me??? Whoa 👀 They hand out numbered tickets from 11:00. Pretty popular, right? There are waits on weekdays, not just weekends,, haha

Terrace waiting area at Low Five

I registered on the waitlist through Catch Table (a restaurant reservation app) on site, but remote waiting may be possible, so I recommend checking the app before you go! The weather was lovely autumn weather,, 🍂 and I waited on the terrace, starving and hungry.. ( ›´-`‹ )

Low Five interior atmosphere and self bar

Vintage-style interior of Low Five

The inside of Low Five Haenggung branch is vintage yet moody! Plants and lighting mix together and there are window seats, so it seems like a great space when you want a casual but slightly~ stylish meal in Haenggung-dong haha I went with a friend and it was easy to relax!

There's also a self bar in the middle where you can grab what you need yourself.

The self bar has grated cheese, hot sauce, cutlery and more, so it's handy to add them to your pizza to taste 👍

Wine bottles displayed as décor at Low Five

The drinks menu has sparkling wine and white wine, and I snapped the bottles because they're used like interior props and suit Low Five's vintage mood ˙ᵕ˙

You can have wine by the glass or by the bottle, whichever you like!

Low Five menu: what to order for two?

Low Five pizza and pasta menu

Low Five sells a range of dishes like kimchi fried rice and salads, centered on pizza and pasta! At a Western restaurant you usually order pizza or pasta, so kimchi fried rice(?) suddenly on the menu might make you go huh? haha But! It's widely known as a signature of this Haenggung-dong pizza spot, so again this time I ordered the kimchi fried rice, corn pizza and shrimp spicy rigatoni ⸜( ˶'ᵕ'˶)⸝

Kimchi fried rice (₩13,000)

Low Five's kimchi fried rice is originally even better with avocado on top, but the avocado option was sold out that day. I ordered the plain version with some disappointment, but between cheesy, creamy dishes like pizza and pasta it works well as a palate refresher!

It comes topped with soft scrambled egg that opens up with a light touch of a spoon, (~‾⌣‾)~ and since the fried rice is fairly sweet, the mild topping balances the flavor!

The savory punch of kimchi fried rice plus the soft texture makes it quietly addictive, so if it's your first visit, please do try the kimchi fried rice haha

Corn pizza (₩25,000)

Corn pizza, Low Five's signature dish

The dish that catches your eye first at Low Five is definitely the corn pizza~ 🌽

Corn pizza topped with corn kernels and cheese

Sweet, nutty corn meets cheese, and the popping texture of the corn kernels is the charm!

Fresh-baked corn pizza slice with dripping cheese

The pizza was fresh out of the oven, so the cheese was dripping down *_* The portion is big enough for several people to share, and the flavor isn't overly intense, so it pairs well with pasta and fried rice!

Pizza slice topped with shrimp, corn and cheese

Springy shrimp + corn + cheese? = it'd just hurt my fingers to describe it. The dough is crispy, so dipping it in the pasta sauce we ordered made it even better, and if it gets a little~ heavy, getting help from the hot sauce works too haha I'm satisfied every time I eat this pizza 🧡

Shrimp spicy rigatoni (₩18,000)

Low Five shrimp spicy rigatoni

The shrimp spicy rigatoni (rigatoni is a tube-shaped pasta) was my first time ordering it too, and it goes well with dishes that can feel rich~ Ordered with the sweet, nutty corn pizza, you can alternate between different flavors, so the combo works nicely ෆ

Rigatoni pasta served with the corn pizza

It has plump shrimp and bacon, and the spicy sauce blends well with the thick, chewy rigatoni. The thick tubes with hollow centers are great to chew, and the sauce gets inside the pasta so every bite is full of rich flavor ʚ˘◡˘ɞ

With the springy texture and the salty savoriness of the bacon, it's a good pick when you're craving spicy pasta! And above all, it's definitely spicy like its name, so if you like spicy food you'll enjoy it even more haha 🔥🔥

Personally I love it! I'm going to order this exact combo next time too

There were two of us, and after three dishes the leftover pizza went home as takeout~
