Ryusenso Dongseong-ro is across from Gukchae-bosang Undong Park in Daegu. And I like that it has no break time!
Is there a wait on weekends at Ryusenso, the Dongseong-ro ramen favorite?

As a proper Daegu ramen hotspot, Ryusenso Dongseong-ro usually has a wait at weekend lunch.

There's a variety of menu items, including tonkotsu ramen (pork-bone broth), spicy tonkotsu ramen and shoyu (soy sauce) ramen.
How to wait at Ryusenso

To get on the waitlist at Ryusenso Dongseong-ro, just step inside, write your name down and wait. The waiting area is fairly roomy, and it's set far enough from the tables that it doesn't feel awkward for people eating.

And there are separate 4-person tables too.
Ryusenso menu and side prices

The Ryusenso menu has plenty of choices, from the most basic Ryusenso to Ryusenso Kara (the spicy one), so picking is half the fun.
Sides run ₩6,000–8,000, which isn't a burden, so it's easy to order one. 👉 The karaage and gyoza (dumplings) at Ryusenso are delicious!

They also sell a cold mini draft beer, handy when you want a light drink.

I came to eat alone, so I sat at the counter! They prepare your ramen right in front of you, and I was already so excited, haha
My solo order: Ryusenso ₩11,000 + karaage ₩8,000

I ordered the Ryusenso for ₩11,000 and the karaage for ₩8,000. The portions are quite generous! It had been a while since I ate alone at a restaurant, and it felt so good, haha. When I'm in Dongseong-ro, I can't resist ramen!
How does the basic Ryusenso ramen taste?

This is the basic best-seller, Ryusenso ramen. My mouth waters just looking at it...!!! The deep pork-bone broth is nicely salty, so it's delicious even on its own. The toppings that come standard were generous too.

A perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg. Imagine how good it is eaten together with the broth~~
Tip: add 2 spoonfuls of minced garlic

And I always add 2 spoonfuls of minced garlic to my Ryusenso ramen, no exceptions. The flavor is out of this world!!!
Wood ear mushrooms and chashu toppings

The wood ear mushrooms on top are chewy and crunchy, with a texture that's honestly amazing, and they go perfectly with the noodles..!

I also took a bite of the tender chashu (braised pork). If one bowl feels small to you, I'd recommend adding extra toppings!
Is karaage a must-have side at Ryusenso?

And the karaage that came with it really is a must-have side at Ryusenso. It was freshly fried, properly crispy outside and juicy inside~

Dip it in tartar sauce and take a bite. See it? The tender grain of the meat...

You can dip it in soy sauce too, or whichever sauce you like.
