Anseong brunch café before Starfield: rosé pasta, Chat Baker

This is a story about Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café, a big café in the Pyeongtaek/Anseong area that I visited before heading to Starfield Anseong. Shopping is great, but as the Korean saying goes, even Mount Geumgang is better after a meal! I wanted a filling brunch before Starfield, and it turned out better than I expected, so I'm sharing it with you haha.

What kind of café is Chat Baker? What about parking?

Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a spacious, pleasant large café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, near Starfield Anseong. Parking is fairly roomy, so it was easy to visit by car, and the building is so big it stands out from far away. The moment I stepped inside, the smell of toasty bread wafted over and put me in a good mood!!!!

Second-floor seating at Chat Baker

Chat Baker has two floors, and the second floor feels open thanks to natural light pouring through the big windows. I wanted a more relaxed meal, so I took a seat upstairs, and the wide spacing between seats meant I could spend time comfortably without feeling cramped. Sipping coffee while looking out the window was really lovely. It's a good spot for chatting with friends and works well for a date too.

What breads does Chat Baker's bakery have?

Near the entrance, a variety of bakery items are on display, including croissants, salt bread and desserts. The freshly baked breads looked so tempting that I struggled to decide what to pick. With so many kinds, bread lovers will be happy here.

Drinks and brunch menu at Chat Baker

The drinks include drip coffee, juice, inner-beauty health drinks, signature coffee, coffee, non-coffee milk drinks, tea and ade. It's also known as a great brunch spot ^_^ There's pasta, risotto, gnocchi and appetizers, and for summer they have fresh mango bingsu (shaved ice dessert), melon bingsu and more! Next time I'll have to come for the bingsu haha.

How do the mentaiko shrimp oil pasta and Johnsonville rosé cream pasta taste?

What I ordered at Chat Baker that day: mentaiko shrimp oil pasta, Johnsonville rosé cream pasta, an americano, a vanilla bean latte, and a ten-thousand-layer croissant!!!

Mentaiko shrimp oil pasta

The mentaiko (spicy pollock roe) shrimp oil pasta had rich umami from the roe, shrimp and cheese. It sounded delicious from the name alone and was really satisfying in reality; the clean taste of an oil sauce kept it from feeling heavy. Plump shrimp were added generously, so the texture was great too.

Johnsonville rosé cream pasta

The Johnsonville rosé cream pasta had a charming, rich tomato-cream rosé sauce. The smooth cream and tomato sauce went together wonderfully, and the juicy Johnsonville sausage made it fun to chew. Rosé pasta fans will be happy with it!
