Cheonan dessert café: housewarming-gift financiers at opening, Brewers
In short
Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch is a dessert café in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, often recommended for its financiers (small buttery almond cakes). After falling for the baked goods a friend brought as a housewarming gift, the writer arrived at Brewers Coffee right at opening on a Saturday morning and took away an iced americano, plain, Dubai and salted caramel financiers, and a crème brûlée madeleine. Verdict: the Dubai financier was the best, and the low-acidity americano paired well with the sweet bakes.

Why a Saturday opening run at Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch?
Brewers Coffee is often mentioned as a top dessert spot in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, and I had wanted to visit for a long time. I kept reading that they have lots of financier varieties and that you need to be there at opening to get the flavor you want, so I went on a Saturday morning.
I worried it would be crowded on a weekend, and sure enough, customers started trickling in right from opening time. I could see why it's so popular.
Brewers Coffee atmosphere and seating in Sinbu-dong

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch has a wood-tone interior with tables for two and four, plus terrace seating. It's not hard to find in Sinbu-dong, and the exterior already felt neat and charming.
There's good natural light, and the warm wood tones made it feel comfortable. The two- and four-person tables looked like a nice place to linger over coffee, and there's a terrace for good-weather days. The indoor mood is lovely, but I thought a coffee outside in a breezy season would be great too.

Brewers Coffee dessert lineup: so many financiers
Brewers is known for coffee, but the dessert lineup is what really stood out. There were far more financier varieties than I expected, and I spent ages deciding.
Freshly baked sweets were on display and my mouth watered just looking. I heard popular items sometimes sell out if you come late, so I was glad I did the opening run.
What I ordered to go at Brewers Coffee

This time I ordered takeout: an iced americano, plain financier, Dubai financier, salted caramel financier and crème brûlée madeleine. I wanted to taste them slowly at home, one by one, so I picked a bit of everything.

How does the Brewers Coffee iced americano taste?
The iced americano isn't strongly acidic; it's a clean style that anyone can drink easily. The first taste is nutty and the finish is clean, so it went really well with the desserts.
Since the desserts are on the sweet side, a balanced coffee like this suited them even better.

Plain financier: classic buttery flavor
The plain financier is the most basic item, but it reminded me that basics matter most. The outside is crisp, the inside moist, with a rich butter flavor.
It isn't too sweet, so it's perfect with coffee, and I think even first-time financier eaters can pick it without worry.

Dubai financier: the best one, worth buying again
I had the Dubai financier before and loved it so much that I bought it again. It has a chocolate coating outside and is packed with pistachio and kadaif (shredded pastry) inside, so the crunchy texture is wonderful.
Sweet and nutty flavors blend nicely, and personally it was my favorite.
Salted caramel financier: for sweet-and-salty fans
The salted caramel financier will satisfy anyone who likes sweet and salty together. A subtle saltiness comes up behind the caramel sweetness, and I kept reaching for more.
It isn't just sugary; the balance is good, so I enjoyed it to the last bite.
Crème brûlée madeleine: crisp top, moist inside
The crème brûlée madeleine was better than expected. The top has a sweet brûlée-like coating with a crisp texture, while the inside is a soft, moist madeleine, and that contrast was charming.

Brewers Coffee financiers as a housewarming gift
Actually, I first tried Brewers desserts when a friend brought them as a housewarming gift. Such good taste, seriously... I already knew it was a famous shop, but then my friend suddenly showed up with it. The menu is varied and so, so delicious that I wanted more!!
Cheonan locals recommend it too, so if you're visiting, definitely pick some up. And, well, I trust Cheonan people all know it already, haha.

These are the ones I had before!! A green tea tart? That was good, the canelé (small caramelized French cake) was good, the apple-something financier was good too... every single item was delicious. With wine, fruit and desserts together, I'm so happy~
I really, really recommend it!!! If you're looking for a café in Sinbu-dong, it has to be Brewers Coffee!!
