Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is a café I stopped by at Starfield Suwon during a recent trip to Suwon. Starfield Suwon really had so much to see. It felt like a place anyone could visit for any purpose, from little kids to adults.

When I visited Starfield, they were running a dinosaur-themed event. There was an entrance fee, but it was quite cheap, and since the models actually moved like they were alive, the kids seemed to love it.

I came to Mega Box to watch the trending movie Obsession, and while wandering around with time to spare, I got drawn in by the smell of coffee — that's how I ended up at Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters. I was drawn in by the smell, but once I visited, it turned out to be visually striking too, so my eyes kept going to it. A café that puts its name on the line — so appealing, right?

They say the signature drink at Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters, the 'coconut' coffee, has sold 1.11 million cups. Isn't that amazing? Seems like it's already famous.

What's the vibe and seating like at Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch?

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is dark-toned overall, which makes it look even more modern and upscale. It matched really well with Starfield Suwon.

I thought it was mainly a takeout spot, but when I went to the side, there were plenty of seats in the back, which seemed perfect for taking a break while shopping. Also, the seats weren't cramped at all — there was enough space to sit comfortably.

There's a large space like this toward the back of the store. From seats suitable for solo visits to 4-person tables, the interior can accommodate all kinds of purposes.

What's on the menu and dessert case?

The menu board at Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters has coffee, lattes, tea, and hand-drip. There are also desserts, including figs, which are in season right now. If the movie timing hadn't been so tight I would've eaten some... anyway, the menu had a wide range of choices and the dessert quality looked really high, so it was nice just to look at.

These are the cookies sold in the store. They had a homemade feel. There were also madeleines and lamingtons.

Inside the display case, the cakes caught my eye — doesn't the fig cake look so tempting? There was also fig sando there — a must for a return visit ;;;;

There were also various goods and coffee beans besides that. The cute frog seems to be Suwon's signature mascot — why did a frog become the representative character of Suwon city?!

The phrase '1.11 million cups and patented' felt a bit aggressive, honestly — it was the kind of poster that makes it impossible not to try one.

How different are the coconut coffee and summer latte?

I ordered two cups at Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters — a coconut and a summer latte — and headed upstairs. Both look similar visually, but they're different. On the left is the coconut, on the right is the summer latte.

Do you know that corn-like plainness of coconut? It's cool and sweet but with a clean, mild taste that lingers oddly in the mouth — memorable enough that I get why it became the signature. The summer latte, on the other hand, felt lighter and more focused on 'refreshing coolness.'

The reason I took so many photos and videos is because it was just so pretty. I don't know if Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters is an independent café or a franchise, but the cup holder was so charming that it was pretty funny how many photos and videos I ended up taking of it.

A Starfield Suwon café good for a break before a movie or mid-shopping

I brought the drinks along and watched Obsession, and I think it was a good call to bring a cold drink~ I was so scared I broke out in a cold sweat, so it might've gotten hot.

Anyway, judging by the atmosphere, Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch seems like a great place to enjoy some downtime alone — studying, reading, whatever. And it's also good for sitting down and resting after shopping or sightseeing, so if I lived in Suwon, I feel like I'd visit really often.
