In short
Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap is a Korean restaurant near Palgongsan in Dong-gu, Daegu, serving organic wrap vegetables and freshwater-snail ssamjang. My mom and I shared three set meals of grilled mackerel and charcoal-grilled bulgogi, with three refills of vegetables, pot rice, and dessert. A satisfying meal for a drive with parents.

Fall suddenly turned properly cool. Chuseok is this month, but it is also the fourth anniversary of my dad's passing. So on a day off, I set aside some time to go say hello to Dad in advance, then went for lunch with Mom while taking a drive around Palgongsan.
Unlimited refills of organic wrap vegetables, freshwater-snail ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste with freshwater snails), mackerel for my mom who cannot eat meat, sweet-and-salty pork bulgogi, boiled pork, and set meals that include pot rice. This was a Palgongsan ssambap (rice wraps) restaurant that satisfied everyone.

Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap after a Palgongsan drive
Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap (임가네우렁쌈밥) is located in Palgongsan. It is nice for a date, but also great to bring your parents to, so I did both at once haha. You have to go one building in from the road.

There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. Cars were still coming and going well into the late lunch hour, and there were lots of guests, yet the lot was so roomy~~

The interior is divided into left and right sides, and it was bright, spacious, and pleasant with warm wood tones. I also liked the generous space between tables. To the left of the entrance are hall tables and private separate rooms, so it looked ideal for family gatherings or group meals.

On the right is a large dining hall. I took this after a group gathering had left, but there were still plenty of guests. There were lots of families, as well as couples, friends, and dates.

Unlimited organic wrap vegetables
Here is the unlimited organic wrap-vegetable station, which you could call the star of Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap. There were raw vegetables, but I also loved that they had steamed cabbage and kelp.

Ordering the mackerel and charcoal-grilled bulgogi sets
Next is the Imga-ne Ureong Ssambap menu. There are set meals including herbal boiled pork, charcoal-grilled bulgogi, grilled mackerel, and the new charcoal-grilled ribs, plus a set that includes two mains.

Some menu items require at least two orders, while others can be ordered for one person. Since one mackerel serves two, I ordered two mackerel + freshwater-snail ssamjang + pot rice sets and one charcoal-grilled bulgogi + freshwater-snail ssamjang + pot rice set—three servings in all.

The basic spread was set out quickly. There were no fewer than eight side dishes! Pickles, braised lotus root and burdock, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned greens, seasoned bean sprouts, fresh kimchi, seasoned cucumber, perilla-seed cabbage salad, ssamjang, and salted hairtail innards, too~~

By the time I brought back vegetables I wanted to eat with Mom, the table had been set~ Just the right amount so we would not leave anything~ It may look like a lot, but we refilled it three times haha.

The table was full, centered on mackerel and charcoal-grilled bulgogi.

Each person gets a set of pot rice, freshwater-snail ssamjang, and miyeokguk (seaweed soup). I think I liked that they came out separately like this~

A generous meal wrapped with freshwater-snail ssamjang
The wraps, filled with mackerel or bulgogi, were so generous in every variety. Mom said the angelica was delicious, so I lost count of how many times she refilled just the angelica haha. I was so happy to see her enjoying it so beautifully.

The freshwater-snail ssamjang was not overly salty, so I could add a generous amount, mix it in, and make wraps 👍 I missed a photo of the sweet-and-salty bulgogi with its smoky char flavor. I guess I forgot about photos while eating haha.
Finishing pot rice with sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) is practically the rule, right? And sungnyung is not the end~~

Sikhye and chaga mushroom tea for dessert
No, they had both sikhye (sweet rice punch) and chaga mushroom tea for dessert!! You can choose according to your preference: something cool or something warm.
With unlimited organic wrap vegetables, mackerel for people who cannot eat meat, and such plentiful side dishes, it was a truly filling restaurant meal that also felt healthy. It is a great restaurant your parents will absolutely love as part of a Palgongsan drive ^^
