Busan Station pork soup restaurant: housemade sundae gukbap, Yeongdong
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch is a milmyeon (cold wheat noodle) and dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup) restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Asti Hotel building, right in front of Busan Station in Dong-gu, Busan. On a first visit to Busan in a while, the writer arrived around 3 p.m. and ordered pork soup, sundae gukbap with housemade sundae (Korean blood sausage) and 10 dumplings. The clean broth with no gamey smell and the dried radish side dish stood out. Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is a tidy spot for a bowl of gukbap the moment you step off the train at Busan Station.

It's been ages since I visited Busan, and if you come to Busan you have to eat gukbap (rice soup)! We got in at almost 3 p.m. and wanted to find a pork soup place near Busan Station for a bowl. Right as we stepped out of the station, on the right, there was Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap! A pork soup spot right outside the station? We ran over without a second thought.
Where do you park for Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap at Busan Station?
The Busan Station branch is in the Asti Hotel building, so you can use the Asti Hotel parking lot for a fee. When you leave Busan Station and look to the right, you'll see the Asti Hotel building, and the restaurant is in there.

Busan is really crowded, with so many cars and people, so what luck that the building has its own parking lot -

Take the escalator up to the 2nd floor and there's the pork soup spot. Maybe because it's in a hotel building, it looked very clean.
Inside and seating at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch
The inside is really tidy. Most pork soup places near Busan Station have an old-school vibe? So they aren't exactly spotless, and I liked this one even more because it's clean.

The seating is roomy and there are solo seats too, so it looked comfortable for any group size. It was nearly 3 p.m., yet people kept coming in behind us.
Menu and what we ordered at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap
Yeongdong is also a well-known milmyeon spot near Busan Station, so they sell both milmyeon and gukbap. Dochi suddenly spotted the milmyeon and seemed to agonize over it for a while.
- Pork soup (dwaeji gukbap)
- Sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup)
- Dumplings
- Zero Cider
In the end we settled on two kinds of gukbap and a side!

The side dishes and steamed rice came out first. Here's the highlight: dried radish strips (mumallaengi), which we love, come along. We got one refill of it too.

As expected, speed is everything at a good gukbap place. We hardly waited and the food was ready fast. Clap clap -

It arrives bubbling in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), which looks so appetizing.

I ordered the pork soup for the first time in a while, and Dochi ordered the sundae gukbap -

How do the sundae gukbap and pork soup taste?
The sundae gukbap had plump pork and housemade sundae (blood sausage). It wasn't ordinary chewy glass-noodle sundae, which I really liked.
My pork soup was packed with plump pieces of pork. This kind of soup can smell porky if it's not done well, but there was none of that. It was so clean, and I loved it.

The broth is very clean. It's already seasoned, so we ate it right away without adding anything.

The broth was deep and rich yet clean, and the mildness of the meat balanced it nicely.

After eating for a while, I added spicy dadaegi (seasoned chili paste) to try it! It gave me a whole different gukbap, which was great.

The sundae was clean with no off smell too, and so well stuffed. Loved it.

How many dumplings come in the side order?
The side dumplings at Yeongdong come as 10 pieces. We enjoyed the dumplings we ordered as a side very much too.

They were moist with chewy wrappers, a great match for gukbap. Looking around, every table had milmyeon too, as you'd expect from a milmyeon place near Busan Station, so next time we visit we'll order milmyeon as well.
