Mummum is a Japanese restaurant with a clean, tidy atmosphere. It looked good for a date, a family meal or a get-together with friends.

It is about a 12-minute walk from Daesil Station Exit 1 and about 8 minutes on foot from Dasa Station Exit 4. By car, it is roughly 5 minutes from Gangjeongbo Dia Ark.

Best of all, the restaurant has a large private car park, so it looked very convenient if you come by car.
Mummum Dasa interior and seating
The interior is wood-toned with soft lighting, giving it a clean, cozy feel. The space is big, and I heard you can book it for private events of up to 50 people.

Once inside, the wood-toned interior and soft lighting made the whole place feel warm and comfortable. The room is fairly spacious, so I could eat without feeling cramped, and as mentioned, private events of up to 50 people are possible. It seemed good for anything from small gatherings to large groups.

There are baby chairs too, which looks handy for families with young kids. One side has bar seating, and I liked that the open kitchen lets you watch the sushi being made up close. It would also suit anyone eating alone or wanting a quiet meal.
What's on the menu at Mummum Dasa?
Mummum Dasa Branch offers not only sushi but also rice bowls, pasta, nabe (Japanese hot pot) and side dishes. Signature items include unagi-don (eel rice bowl), salmon sushi made with kelp-cured salmon, and steak-don.

The unagi-don pairs tender eel with tare sauce (a sweet-savory glaze), and the steak-don is a juicy rice bowl. They also sell mentaiko pasta made with pollock roe and basil pesto, and tamago sando, a Japanese egg sandwich, so there's plenty to pick from depending on your taste.

This time I ordered three things: the eel rice bowl, salmon sushi and jumbo fried shrimp.

It came with udon broth, danmuji (yellow pickled radish), rakkyo (pickled shallots) and cabbage as standard. A nice basic set to go along with the sushi and rice bowl.
How was the unagi-don (eel rice bowl) at Mummum?
The eel rice bowl at Mummum Dasa Branch is piled generously with eel on top of the rice, making it a hearty meal. The eel was tender, and the sweet-salty tare sauce blended well into the rice.

One of the dishes I ordered this time was the eel rice bowl. With plenty of eel over the rice, it's a satisfying meal on its own. A soy sauce comes on the side, so you can add it to taste and eat the rice and eel together.

The eel had a tender texture, and the sweet-salty tare sauce went well with the rice. The sauce had soaked into the rice too, so it was great eaten together with the eel.

You get the eel's distinctive flavor along with the savory depth of the sauce, so it's a good choice if you want a filling rice bowl rather than sushi. If you like, add a little wasabi for a sharp kick and a different taste.
Can you order Mummum's salmon sushi with grilled salmon pieces?
At Mummum Dasa Branch you can choose how many pieces of the salmon sushi are grilled when you order. I asked for just 3 pieces to be grilled, so I got to try raw and grilled salmon together.

If you visit Mummum, you can't skip the salmon sushi, right? It's one of their signature dishes, so I ordered it again. What I especially liked is that besides the regular salmon sushi, you can choose grilled salmon.

Since you can choose the number of grilled pieces when ordering, I asked for 3 out of the whole plate to be grilled. That let me taste raw and grilled salmon side by side. The raw salmon had a lovely soft texture, while the grilled salmon had a smoky char on the surface and a richer, nuttier flavor. Personally, I liked the grilled one with its smoky aroma better.
I also liked that the sushi doesn't come with wasabi already inside, so you can add as much as you want on the side. If you can't handle much wasabi like me, you can adjust it to your taste. The raw and grilled salmon taste a little different, so even one plate gave a nice variety of textures.
Jumbo fried shrimp (3 pieces) as a side
I also ordered 3 pieces of jumbo fried shrimp to go with the mains. It was crispy outside and moist inside, and it comes with tartar sauce.

The crispy-outside, moist-inside texture was the charm here. The shrimp is fried whole, and the shape running from head to tail looked really appetizing.

Dipped in the tartar sauce that came with it, the rich, smooth sauce was a great match. If sushi or a rice bowl alone feels like not enough, adding this as a side makes the table feel fuller. It's also good for ordering several dishes and sharing.
How much is draft beer at Mummum Dasa?
I heard Mummum Dasa Branch sells Japanese Kirin draft beer for ₩5,000 for a 400ml glass. Besides the meal dishes, there are plenty of items that go well with a drink.

There's also a Naver review event where you can choose either a drink or a 200ml Kirin draft beer, so keep that in mind. With light dishes like sushi and fried items, it also seemed like a great place for anyone wanting a drink with dinner.

By the way, the restroom is outside the restaurant, around the back to the right.

Mummum Dasa: final verdict
Mummum Dasa Branch was a place where you can enjoy a wide range of Japanese dishes in one spot, from sushi to eel rice bowls and fried items. Being able to choose how many pieces of salmon are grilled made ordering easy to tailor, and the eel rice bowl paired tender eel with a savory sauce. Adding the fried shrimp let me try a good variety of dishes.
With a spacious, clean interior and parking, it's worth considering for a date, a family meal or a group get-together. If you're curious about sushi in Dasa or Japanese food near Daesil Station, try the sushi and rice bowls at Mummum Dasa Branch.
