A new brunch café by Banwoldang Station: how I ended up at Dento

Dento is a newly opened brunch café in Bongsan-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, near Banwoldang Station. It is open 10:00–20:00 (last order 19:00) and closed on Mondays.

It was one brutal week, and I thought, I can't do this anymore, so I practically jumped out of bed and ran to Dento in Bongsan-dong! Straight to the new brunch café by Banwoldang Station!

It's a weekday, so why are there so many people? It kept feeling odd, and it turned out to be a public holiday, haha. I only found that out in the evening ;;;;

Anyway, Dento was so pretty and the owner was so kind that it was more than enough for a mood reset.

The brunch menu I ordered at Dento

I ordered three things at Dento: five bite-size open sandwiches, tomato soup and iced drip coffee. Please check the photo for the menu.

I had literally just woken up and rushed out in the gap before work, so I was half asleep, haha. It was perfect for coffee with brunch.

They bring the order to your table, and you eat from left to right in order.

Dento's signature: five bite-size open sandwiches with tomato soup

Dento's five bite-size open sandwiches are the signature: five different sandwiches, each fresh and eaten in one bite. So of course you have to try them, right?!

Oh, but! The tomato soup I never expected. I was so focused on the sandwiches that I never imagined it would be this good. The two together are a honey combo! Having them together makes brunch even more filling and delicious.

Following the owner's recommended order, I started with the tomato one, one bite. One bite each is great, and sharing one in half between two people works too.

What does Dento's iced drip coffee taste like?

Dento's iced drip coffee was the most unexpected item of this visit. I came only for the open sandwiches, but the drip coffee was so good.

Another thing I didn't expect: why is the drip coffee this good too! I came just for the open sandwiches and hadn't thought about the coffee or the soup, but it was such a good drip coffee!

First, the tomato bite-size sandwich

A fresh start with a bite-size sandwich. Because it's tomato, it felt like an appetizer, or like a one-bite salad. Yum yum.

Salmon avocado ♡ Just love. A combo I want to eat again and add more of, and then the flavor flows on into the broccoli!

Fourth and fifth: the truffle sandwiches

The last two were both delicious: the fourth one, and then the fifth, packed with truffle aroma. Wow, I'm so stuffed. But!

Dento's receipt review perk

At Dento, if you write a receipt review, they give you one more bite-size sandwich!

It's tasty, so I can eat more. Cream cheese with truffle? That would go well with wine too!

But the coffee, really… maybe because I work in a café and only drink espresso, but it was light with a slight fruity note, and it woke me right up.
