Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a large brunch and bakery café at 4391 Seodong-daero, Unit 101, Building 3, Gongdo-eup, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is open daily 09:00–23:00, last order is at 22:00, and there is a parking lot right in front.
We were out for a drive and heading to Anseong Farmland, and wanted brunch on the way, so we stopped at Chat Baker in Gongdo, Anseong. When you search for cafés near Anseong Farmland, Chat Baker comes up a lot. It's about 10 minutes by car from Anseong Farmland and Starfield, so it's a really convenient stop for a drive or a weekend outing.
There were no big cafés nearby, and now there's a large café that's great for both brunch and bakery? Total luck! The parking lot in front is also really wide, so parking was easy.
From the outside I wondered, is this a big café? But the moment we walked in, the entrance blew me away. The ceiling at the entrance is open through the 1st and 2nd floors, so it's very high.
Chat Baker brunch menu: is 1 p.m. too late?
The Chat Baker menu has quite a few brunch dishes, not just bakery items. When we visited around 1 p.m., though, some brunch items were already sold out.

Chat Baker is a great bakery, but it's a great brunch spot too. We went around 1 p.m., and some brunch items were already sold out. Luckily they weren't what we wanted to eat. (I usually pick my order from the menu before visiting.) We ordered the "jambon truffle cream risotto" and the "bacon napa cabbage salad", plus peppermint tea and lemon tea.

Chat Baker discounts and events
At the time of our visit, Chat Baker was giving out a salt bread for writing a Naver review, and all drinks were 30% off with a brunch order. There were also prepaid card perks.
They give you a salt bread for writing a review! If you visit, definitely join the event and try the salt bread. There are also prepaid card perks, so if you live in Anseong, using a prepaid card seems worthwhile.

And the best part: all drinks are 30% off when you order a brunch dish! Not many places give such a big discount.
What breads does Chat Baker have?
The bakery at Chat Baker had a huge range: mocha buns, salt bread, custard cream buns and pizza bread, plus baked sweets like cookies and madeleines, cakes, and Dubai chewy cookies. I'd heard it was a great bakery, but I had no idea there would be this many kinds of bread... I took photos of all of them, so they should be a handy reference before you go, haha.

The mocha buns and salt bread came in lots of varieties. There were also custard cream buns and pizza bread, which older folks love.

They had baked sweets like cookies and madeleines too.

There were lots of cakes as well, so if you live in Anseong, ordering a cake from Chat Baker for an anniversary would be a great choice.

And the Dubai chewy cookie (dujjonku), which I'm still hooked on.. Dubai is a classic, right?
What are the inside and the 2nd floor of Chat Baker like?
The inside of Chat Baker is much bigger than I expected, and one side is all tall windows, so you can chat in the sunlight. There are lots of seats with plenty of space between them, and the 2nd floor, up the stairs, has a different mood from the 1st.
(Is this what a well laid-out, spacious interior feels like?) As I said earlier, the ceiling is super high! There are loads of seats with good spacing, so it looked really good for chatting. Let me show you the 2nd floor too, up the stylish stairs.
The 2nd floor had a totally different feel. Kind of a collab between nature and Korean beauty? Whatever, ^^ the atmosphere was really great. I wonder who did the interior.. so good vibes.

How do the bacon napa salad and jambon truffle cream risotto taste?
What we ordered at Chat Baker was the jambon truffle cream risotto, the bacon napa cabbage salad, peppermint tea and lemon tea. The napa cabbage salad was fresh and went well with the sauce, and the risotto was packed with ingredients, so it made a filling brunch.

The napa cabbage salad was fresh and went well with the sauce, and the truffle jambon risotto was generously loaded with arugula, jambon (Korean-style ham) and mushrooms, so it was very filling as a brunch.
