What is Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch?
Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and rice paper wrap restaurant in Bokhyeon-dong, near Daegu Airport and Costco. I love shabu-shabu and rice paper wraps, and I really like all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu, especially Shabu20 for its good meat and high-quality self bar food, so I drop by often.
This time I stopped at the Bokhyeon branch near Daegu Airport and Costco. The parking lot is big, the interior is pretty, the self bar is well kept, and the meat had no odor at all. I left happy with both the shabu-shabu and the wraps. I made wrap after wrap and was so happy!
Is parking easy at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon?
There is an attendant on duty near the entrance, so parking was well managed.
Which shabu-shabu broth is best with a toddler?
We came with our 30-month-old, so we ordered only the bonito (katsuobushi, dried fish flake) broth from the Shabu20 menu.
Arriving before 5 pm: inside Shabu20 Bokhyeon
This is the inside of the restaurant. We came before 5, so I snapped photos in the gaps while the room was empty. By the time we were eating, it filled up with so many people!
What's on the Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon self bar?
The self bar has drinks, coffee, juice, vegetables, pork and beef, sauces, rice cakes, fruit, salmon salad, cream pasta, pad thai, seasoned and soy chicken, and even ice cream. Let me show you one by one. First there's a water dispenser (yaksu-teo style), and a variety of drinks, coffee and juice.
This is the fresh vegetable corner. The self bar was kept so clean that I felt at ease eating with the baby.
The meat corner had pork and beef. We only ate beef, and it was soft with no odor, which I was really happy with.
Among the sauces, peanut, sesame and chili are my favorite combination.
There are rice cakes and fruit too. And salmon salad!

Can you take coffee to go at Shabu20?
Yes, you can take coffee to go at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch. Cups are set out at the cashier, and I took a hot latte with me.
Best self bar dishes at Shabu20 Bokhyeon
The standouts at the Shabu20 self bar were the salmon salad and the seasoned chicken. Before the main event, I tried the self bar food one by one, and since I personally love salmon, I was so glad there was salmon salad.
How does beef shabu-shabu in bonito broth taste?
I put assorted vegetables into the bonito broth, then dunked the beef into the clear broth. I also brought rice paper wrap ingredients to suit my taste.
The beef is tasty eaten straight from the broth, and dipped in sesame sauce it's seriously delicious!!! It's nutty and soft with no odor, and our baby ate it really well too.
Best rice paper wrap combo: beef and pineapple
My wrap combo is two slices of beef, assorted vegetables and two pieces of pineapple, with sesame and chili sauce. Rice paper wraps are my favorite menu, so I'm really good at making them, haha! Two pieces of meat, assorted vegetables, two pieces of pineapple, then sesame and chili sauce: the flavors are truly harmonious and so delicious. One mouthful and I'm happy.
They keep refilling the meat! And I, a person crazy about rice paper wraps, just kept making wraps. No room for noodles. I made wrap after wrap, got so full, and that was the end of it... haha
Can each family member eat what they like?
Thanks to the self bar at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch, everyone in the family ate to their own taste. Our baby ate the fruit well, too.
My husband enjoyed ice cream and coffee too. Everyone can eat to their own taste, so I love the self bar.
Going back to Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon
When we came to Shabu20 Bokhyeon before, our baby only ate rice puffs (tteokppeong), but now that she's bigger she eats rice with us. The self bar is well kept and the beef is good quality, so we had a satisfying dinner.
The wraps with beef, vegetables, and chili and sesame sauce are so, so good. They're delicious whenever I eat them, so I'll probably go again soon. Even as I write this post, they look delicious.
