Gyeongju Bomun date café where a grapefruit hater loved the ade: Yard

What is Yard, the Gyeongju Bomun café, like?

Yard is a café at 2 Cheongun 2-gil, Gyeongju, on the main road by Gyeongju World. It is open daily 09:00–20:00 (last order 19:30, brunch 09:00–15:00). I was on a Gyeongju trip with my partner for the first time in a while, looking for a café with a good mood, and found Yard in the Bomun area, which seemed great for a date!

Outside and the 1st floor of Yard

We've arrived at Yard :) There are tables outside too! The café has two floors, and the 1st floor has lots of tables as well!

There's a good variety of cakes and they looked so delicious, seriously?! (There are lots of brunch dishes too, so it seems like a good place to visit for brunch haha)

What are Yard's 2nd-floor beanbags and terrace like?

The 2nd floor of Yard has lots of tables, plus a beanbag area and a terrace, and the mood felt even better than the 1st floor! Let's head up to the 2nd floor~

There was a beanbag area, and lying here felt like proper healing! (There was a maple tree out front too, which made it even more atmospheric, right?!) The 2nd floor has a terrace.

The 1,000-pyeong flower field in front of Yard: when to go?

Right in front of Yard is a wide flower field of 1,000 pyeong (about 3,300 m²), and from August 15 to October 12 it was yellow cosmos season! (We visited after the season ended, so we couldn't see the cosmos ourselves, which was a pity. We plan to come back next May, when the Shasta daisy field returns >_<)

Facilities and good-to-know info at Yard

Yard's condiment bar has small plates, forks and knives, wet wipes, tissues and more.

They also have blankets and board games!

• The 2nd floor is temporarily a no-kids zone; high chairs are available
• For the Wi-Fi password, check the notice in the café
• Restrooms: men's on the 1st floor, women's on the 2nd floor

Yard's signature menu and what we ordered

Yard's signature dishes include the Yard English Plate, guacamole open rye baguette, burrata cheese salad and shrimp oil pasta, among many others! We ordered the burnt cheesecake, butterfly grapefruit ade and signature cream latte.

Ta-da! All our orders are out >_< (They look so yummy just from the looks, right?!)

Having good coffee and dessert in such a nice atmosphere felt even more healing :)

How does Yard's burnt cheesecake taste?

Yard's burnt cheesecake was denser and cheesier than I expected. Let's start with the burnt cheesecake!

The cheese-shaped chocolate is so cute haha (and the chocolate was sweet and tasty too!)

I took a bite of the burnt cheesecake, and it was denser and cheesier than I expected, totally my style, seriously?! (It's so rich that it would go well with an iced Americano too >_<)

Is Yard's signature cream latte sweet?

Yard's signature cream latte is topped with sweet, rich cream, so anyone who likes sweet things will love it. Next up, the signature cream latte!

I tried the cream first, and it was sweet and rich, a taste anyone who likes sweets will enjoy :)

Sipping the coffee together with the cream was a great match, and JMT (insanely delicious)!

Even if you dislike grapefruit, is Yard's butterfly grapefruit ade okay?

Yard's butterfly grapefruit ade balances grapefruit's tartness and sweetness so well that even my partner, who doesn't much like grapefruit, raved about it. Finally, the butterfly grapefruit ade! (The color is so pretty that it begged for a photo >_<)

I took a sip, and the grapefruit tartness and sweetness were so well balanced that it was ridiculously addictive :) (My partner finds grapefruit too sour and doesn't like it much, but said Yard's grapefruit ade was pleasantly tart with a harmonious sweetness, and raved about it >_<)

Is parking easy at Yard?

Yard has a parking area right next to the café, so parking was easy :)
