If you're into meat, you know the struggle of picking a beef restaurant in Ingye-dong. This time I went to Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch (영포화로 인계점) in Ingye-dong, Suwon.
Ingye-dong has plenty of good restaurants and gets busy in the evenings with gatherings and work dinners. Yeongpo Hwa-ro had a clean, put-together vibe and felt like a great spot to actually enjoy the meat, which I liked.

What's in the Special A Set?
Today I ordered the Special A Set, which lets you taste several cuts at once. It comes with three servings of assorted hanwoo (Korean beef) plus one serving of chadolbaegi, so it's a filling choice when you're dining with a few people.

Close to Suwon City Hall Station, with parking too
Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch is fairly close to Suwon City Hall Station, so it's an easy trip by public transit. There's also a parking space right in front of the restaurant, which made driving over convenient too.

The vibe inside and the private rooms
Walking in, the whole place felt clean and a bit upscale. It wasn't the typical BBQ joint with tables crammed together — each seat had some breathing room, which made it easy to focus on the meal.

Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch also has private rooms, which would suit anyone looking for a spot for a family dinner or a work gathering. I heard a lot of groups actually book the rooms for gatherings and company dinners.

The basic banchan spread
Once we sat down, the basic side dishes to go with the meat were neatly laid out. Kimchi, pickled cucumber, myeongi-namul, garlic, chili, ssamjang, salt and wasabi — a good lineup you could mix and match depending on your taste.

Personally, I like tasting the beef's natural flavor over drowning it in sauce, so I first tried a piece dipped lightly in salt. As always, good meat doesn't need much dressing up to taste great.

Starting with the chadolbaegi
The long-awaited Special A Set finally arrived. Seeing the assorted hanwoo and chadolbaegi laid out together made my mouth water instantly — the color of the meat alone was so appetizing I couldn't stop taking photos. I started by grilling the chadolbaegi.
Yeongpo Hwa-ro's chadolbaegi was a bit different from the usual thin-sliced version — it had some real thickness to it, so the texture had more bite and the nutty flavor really came through. Apparently they trim and slice it by hand piece by piece, which built up my expectations even more. Laid on the grill and cooked just briefly, the juicy, savory flavor spread through my mouth. Beef really is best when you don't overcook it and let the juices stay in. It was tasty dipped in salt, and clean and refreshing with a touch of wasabi. Wrapping it in myeongi-namul was a real treat too.

Comparing cuts with the assorted hanwoo
Then I moved on to the main event — the assorted hanwoo. Getting to taste several cuts at once is the biggest perk of a mixed platter.

Each cut had a slightly different texture and flavor, so grilling and comparing them one by one was genuinely fun.

A well-cooked piece dipped lightly in salt tasted nutty and clean, and a bit of wasabi on the side kept it from getting greasy, so I could keep eating without getting tired of it.

Above all, it was a great way to enjoy the meat itself, so anyone who loves beef would be pretty satisfied. And of course, no BBQ meal is complete without the sides, which we enjoyed too.

Doenjang sulbap
The savory doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) was great to spoon up between bites of meat — eating it alongside the beef reset my palate, so my spoon kept going back for more.

Comfortable down to the space and parking
What I liked about eating at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch wasn't just that the meat was good — the whole experience, from the atmosphere to the layout to the parking, was comfortable overall.

Anyone wanting a quiet meal could use the private room, and it also seemed like a fine choice for a family dinner or a gathering with friends or coworkers where several people show up together.

The interior was seriously flashy and polished too!

Kodari cold noodles and complimentary patbingsu
And the kodari (dried pollack) water and spicy cold noodles we ordered as sides had such deep flavor, haha.

This one's the patbingsu they gave us on the house 💕

One more thing to add to the list of trustworthy beef restaurants — Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch! I'll definitely be back~~~!
