In short

A seafood-broth naengmyeon (cold noodles) restaurant that's been running for three generations — Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu! I heard about a new menu item and rushed right over. 🍜

Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu: seafood broth made with their own recipe, hand-toasted sesame seeds, clean and spicy sun-dried chili flakes, carefully selected sesame oil, and hand-made dumplings — all prepared fresh every day. 🥟 I was so curious about this naengmyeon spot's new menu item.

What comes in the 34,000 won Daegu-style dak hanmari set
Daegu-style dak hanmari set (2-3 people) ₩34,000 • 600g vegetables, 200g kalguksu noodles, 2 dumplings
I ordered easily using the tablet — so exciting. There's a separate menu just for new items so you can see everything at a glance, so I checked the extra menu items carefully too. It's great for two people, but with so many add-on options it'd also be perfect for a bigger group.

Each table has its own vinegar, soy sauce, spicy chili flakes, pepper, and naengmyeon mustard, so it was easy to season everything to taste.

Hot broth and the self-serve bar
Hot broth / self-serve bar: you can freely help yourself to broth kept at 95°C and various side dishes.
✔️The drawer on the side of the table has napkins, wet wipes, and utensils neatly arranged, so you can take what you need for your group.

How to eat dak hanmari: the 10-minute hourglass
After ordering, a gas burner, side dishes, and plates are brought out first.

The hot pot arrives with a whole chicken cut into bite-sized pieces, potatoes, and minced garlic, and a staff member pours in the broth.

And the vegetable bowl comes packed generously with napa cabbage, chives, mushrooms, bean sprouts, onion, green onion, and even rice cake sticks. Like shabu-shabu, you cook them briefly in the broth — so satisfying.
Hourglass (10 minutes): eat the vegetables first, and once the broth starts boiling, flip the hourglass and cook the chicken for 10 minutes before eating.
Once the broth was bubbling away, the vegetables were all cooked too, so I dipped the potatoes, mushrooms, and rice cake in soy sauce, one after another ^_^
They use fresh chicken too — look how clean it looks. Light and clean-tasting, really good.
Kalguksu noodles and hand-made dumplings
Kalguksu & dumplings: once you've eaten a good amount of the vegetables and chicken, in go the kalguksu noodles and dumplings~!!
If you love chewy kalguksu, lie right down here~ 💓 The texture was insane!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dumpling skin was just right too, and the filling was so full. Topped with soy sauce and kimchi, it was pure honey.

The potato pancake add-on, crisp from the waffle iron
✔️Potato pancake: while eating the main dish it was so good I ordered an extra potato pancake. 🥫It comes with ketchup and pickled onions.🧅 You really have to try this one~~! Crispy outside, chewy inside… I couldn't stop reaching for it.
Maybe because it's cooked in a waffle iron, it instantly reminded me of Burger King fries!!

Haha I got so excited by the smell that I piled on onions and ketchup all at once…🤣 Still delicious!!! Great on its own, and with kimchi on top I really wanted a glass of makgeolli.
Two kinds of kimchi and the dining room
At Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 there are two kinds of kimchi — the regular kimchi served as a side dish, and the spicy kimchi available at the self-serve bar. ✔️If you want more regular kimchi, just ask the staff. 🥬
Interior: I went in right after break time ended, so I could photograph the space before customers packed in. 🍽️ The clean wood-toned interior has a variety of table seating and baby chairs, so it'd be great for gatherings or family meals too.

For the old-school naengmyeon spot on Deuran-gil, "Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu," I highly recommend the Daegu-style dak hanmari too.
