In short
Mokhwa Silbi (목화실비) is a cozy Korean pub and chicken feet bar on Jungang-daero 680Beonga-gil in Seomyeon, Busan. On a date visit, the couple had the free starters of pink sausage and mukchae (shredded acorn jelly), a lemon highball stacked with a tower of lemon slices, an Earl Grey highball, mille-feuille nabe (layered hot pot) and cream cheese shrimp fondue finished with a torch. With wooden tables, pebble floors and bulb lighting, Mokhwa Silbi is a date bar in Seomyeon worth recommending.

I went to Mokhwa Silbi (목화실비), a cozy, atmospheric bar in Seomyeon, one of Busan's hottest spots, and it's a perfect place to spend a quiet evening with your partner. It's already well known for tasty snacks and a cute but snug vibe, so here's my honest, detailed review, from the spicy Seomyeon chicken feet to the hearty soup dishes.
Is there parking at Mokhwa Silbi?
Mokhwa Silbi has no private parking lot. If you drive to Seomyeon, you'll need to park in a nearby paid lot.
Mokhwa Silbi's exterior and waiting chairs in Seomyeon

The exterior has soft lights glowing down the alley and a clear tent-like structure. Next to the entrance, the signature dishes are shown with appetizing photos, so you'll want to stop and look even if you're just passing by.

They've even thoughtfully set out chairs for people waiting or visiting.
How is Mokhwa Silbi's interior for a date?

Inside, wooden tables and a pebble-stone floor come together for a snug, sentimental feel.

Warm-toned bulb lights fill the space, so it's hard to beat for couples sitting side by side, clinking glasses and enjoying a date.
Mokhwa Silbi menu: best sellers and drinks

The menu has a wide range, from set menus and main dishes to pancakes, sides and pretty desserts. The best sellers that stood out were the mille-feuille nabe (layered hot pot), cream cheese shrimp fondue and fondue-style chicken feet.

Drinks go beyond soju and beer, with stylish options like Simsul, plum wine (maehwasu) and highballs, so you can drink to your taste.
Mokhwa Silbi's free starters: pink sausage and muchae

The house starters are nostalgic pink sausage and muchae (acorn jelly salad). Personally, I thought that muchae above was so good!
Lemon tower highball and Earl Grey highball

Mokhwa Silbi's lemon highball is piled high with cool lemon slices like a tower, which grabs your eye right away, and the Earl Grey highball we ordered with it is sweet. You get lemony freshness and a cool, fizzy kick at once, a must-order drink to lift the date mood. I've never seen a place give this many lemons!
How does Mokhwa Silbi's mille-feuille nabe taste?

The mille-feuille nabe is generous and clean-tasting. Napa cabbage and beef are neatly layered in a black hot pot, topped with enoki and oyster mushrooms, sweet pumpkin, and shiitake cut with a pretty star pattern, so you can feel the care put into it.
Once it bubbles away, the broth is rich yet clean, perfect as a drinking snack.
Cream cheese shrimp fondue with a torched, smoky finish

For the cream cheese shrimp fondue, they use a torch to add a smoky char right at the table over the shrimp dish smothered in melted, creamy white cheese. The flame lifts the cheese's flavor, so it's fun to watch and savory to eat at the same time.

See those plump, bouncy shrimp? Shrimp is always love.

Wrapping the shrimp fondue in a tortilla or bread gives you a different kind of treat.

Here's the whole table at Mokhwa Silbi, packed with good food. Spicy snacks, steaming hot nabe and fresh highballs all work together, making it a lovely place to spend happy time with your partner.
