Chicken noodle shop in Seocho: ₩10,000 lunch with ₩500 rice, Yujinok
In short
Yujinok Gangnam (유진옥 강남점) is a chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant on basement level 1 of 321 Gangnam-daero in Seocho, Seoul. On a weekday lunch at Yujinok Gangnam, the writer ordered tangpadak (glutinous-rice chicken breast tangsuyuk), spicy chicken noodles and chicken noodles, then added 500-won rice to the broth. The chicken breast tangsuyuk stayed tender and the noodles were chewy. Yujinok Gangnam is a satisfying, filling lunch for around 10,000 won in Gangnam, for office workers and solo diners alike.

Yujinok Gangnam (유진옥) is a chicken noodle restaurant in Seocho where you can eat your fill in Gangnam for just ₩10,000. I'd recommend it for a Gangnam office lunch, so let's go through it step by step 👀✨
Yujinok Gangnam location and how to get there
Yujinok Gangnam is in the basement (B1) of 321 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's open 11:00 to 15:30 (last order 15:00). Group seating and takeout are available, and there's Wi-Fi and separate men's and women's restrooms.

Yujinok Gangnam is right by the stairs going down to B1. If you take the elevator down, turn left and you'll find it.
Is there parking at Yujinok Gangnam?
Yes, parking is available. If you came by car, just tell the staff after your meal and they'll register your parking for you!
Yujinok Gangnam menu and prices

- Chicken noodles (닭국수) ₩10,000
- Spicy chicken noodles (얼큰닭국수) ₩12,000
- Tangpadak (탕파닭) ₩12,000
- Steamed rice ₩500
In winter, the chicken noodle dishes are said to be the popular ones! They order plenty of them in summer too, but perilla oil chicken noodles (들기름닭국수) are ordered even more then. If you like perilla oil, I'd recommend those.
What made Yujinok Gangnam feel like a real value spot in Gangnam is that rice is ₩500 and extra noodles are also ₩500. Chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) for around ₩10,000 near Gangnam Station? I have to admit it's a bargain 👍🏻
Yujinok Gangnam seating and lunch wait

The dining room at Yujinok Gangnam isn't big. There are several 2- to 4-person tables, so groups of 6-8 can eat together. At lunchtime it gets crowded, so if you come with 6 or more, you may have to sit at separate tables.

Once weekday lunchtime hit, lots of people came in! Tables turn over fast, so the wait wasn't long even at lunch. The wait is 5-10 minutes at most! I got in with no wait at all on a weekday lunch 😎
What does tangpadak taste like? Chicken breast glutinous-rice tangsuyuk

The first dish to arrive at Yujinok Gangnam was the tangpadak (₩12,000)! It's like glutinous-rice tangsuyuk (Korean sweet and sour fried meat), but the inside is thick, so the bite is completely different~ It's topped with green onion but isn't spicy, and the lemon gives it a fresh, tangy taste. The sauce is poured over so it goes soggy quickly, but that makes the chewiness stronger, so you taste the glutinous rice even more!

I thought it was pork.. but chicken breast??? 😳 You can taste the tenderness with just one bite, so I couldn't help being amazed that this is chicken breast tangsuyuk ....

How spicy are the spicy chicken noodles?
The spicy chicken noodles (₩12,000) at Yujinok Gangnam are about as spicy as Shin Ramyun. They have a sharp kick that's perfect for a hangover cure after drinking! Even though they're called spicy chicken noodles, the flavor is closer to jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup).

The smoky-flavored broth comes with cabbage, onion and finely cut chicken breast. I figured chicken breast would be dry, but not at all! It's cut so small that you don't feel any of that dryness!

Is the basic chicken noodle soup mild?
The chicken noodles (₩10,000) at Yujinok Gangnam are mild, but with chili seasoning paste (daedagi) added, there's a slight kick inside the mildness! It's spicy enough that even people who can't handle heat can eat it. The noodles are similar to jjamppong noodles, so they're nice and chewy! They don't go soggy even if you eat slowly, which is perfect for slow eaters.

Springy noodles, shredded chicken breast, smoky onion and cabbage, all in one bite! The clams in the chicken kalguksu are a bonus 🤍

Finishing with ₩500 rice
To make it a hearty lunch, I ordered the rice (₩500) at Yujinok Gangnam, finished the noodles, and then happily mixed the rice into the broth 🍚

Yujinok Gangnam as a ₩10,000 lunch in Seocho: my verdict
Yujinok Gangnam is a great-value spot where you can eat your fill in Gangnam for ₩10,000. It's also perfect for eating alone in Gangnam. The owner and staff were all friendly, and they even thoughtfully brought side dishes without being asked. I liked everything about this Gangnam restaurant, from start to finish.
