Inside Cheongwon Restaurant and the side dishes

The inside of the Dujeong Main Branch feels like a relaxed neighborhood restaurant,

and the mukbang YouTubers Ami and Manri have been here, so it's a certified Cheonan budae-jjigae spot, right?

The tables weren't cramped, and the whole place was tidy, so it looked good for a meal with family, coworkers or friends.

The side dishes were kimchi, fish cake and bean sprouts, a nice combo with budae-jjigae.

Ramyeon noodles and rice are free to refill, so a hearty lunch or dinner is guaranteed. Good to know, right?
Cheongwon Restaurant menu and prices

The main dishes are Songtan budae-jjigae and Cheongwon budae-jjigae, and there's also pork cutlet. Add-ons include ham, sausage, beef brisket, cheese and Shin Ramyun noodles, plus drinks. With prices so high these days, budae-jjigae at ₩11,000 is a real bargain, don't you think?
Songtan budae-jjigae for 2 with extra brisket: how did it taste?

This time we ordered the same as last time, the Songtan budae-jjigae for 2 (₩22,000), and we went all in with beef brisket (₩5,000) added.

It came out in under 5 minutes after we ordered, and wow... just looking at it, there's no way this could taste bad. A true Dujeong-dong hotspot.
It was loaded with ham and sausage, and with ground meat and brisket on top, it looked incredible. The longer it boiled, the more the flavors came out, so the broth looked set to get richer and deeper, and I was already so excited.

Can you see how generous the contents of the Songtan budae-jjigae are? Honestly, with this quality, you have no choice but to come back, haha.
The stew is clean yet spicy, and as you eat, the broth gets richer and keeps calling for more rice. I loved it.

Is the beef brisket add-on worth it?
Adding the beef brisket (₩5,000) brought a nutty richness and more depth to the broth. If you love meat, I'd say definitely add the brisket.

Adding the ramyeon noodles is what makes it a truly proper budae-jjigae, but sadly the stew was so big that we couldn't add any noodles. That's our little secret, shh.
