Eojin-dong Italian restaurant for blind dates: pumpkin gnocchi, Olibus

Today I'm at Olibus Italian Restaurant Eojin-dong Flagship (올리부스), an Italian restaurant in Eojin-dong, Sejong.

Is Olibus in Eojin-dong, Sejong a good blind-date restaurant?

From the outside to the interior, Olibus is clean and stylish, and the moment you open the door your mood lifts. The lighting and decor are so pretty that it suits a blind date or a date night.

With such lovely lighting and decor, I looked around and saw some fresh-faced couples who seemed to be on blind dates! (Anyone looking for a blind date spot in Sejong, make a note... whisper whisper 📝)

On top of that, as a well-known restaurant, it also had foreign guests dining, and it felt for a moment like a small restaurant in Europe.

Back at Olibus after our dating days

Olibus was near where my husband (my boyfriend back then, of course) lived a few years ago, so we came a few times, and now that we've moved, this was my first visit in a long while haha. So let me introduce the dishes I tried this time, one by one!

Olibus signature potato soup: is it a must-order?

The signature potato soup is a dish I recommend you order. It kicked off the meal as Olibus's pride, and one bite made it clear why it carries the signature title.

It's smooth, with that nutty, deep potato flavor filling your mouth, and it was perfect for warming and settling the stomach before the mains.

The bread served with the soup (probably baguette) was crisp too, yet soft (not rough?) and fluffy, crispy outside and moist inside.

What is the texture of the pumpkin gnocchi at Olibus?

Next, the visual genius: pumpkin gnocchi! Olibus's pumpkin gnocchi (potato dumplings) was chewy outside and soft inside, paired with a sweet pumpkin sauce.

Badly made gnocchi tastes only of flour or has a disappointing texture, but Olibus's gnocchi, chewy outside and soft inside, was excellent.

It harmonizes wonderfully with the sweet, smooth pumpkin sauce, so it's a bewitching dish that makes you scrape up every last bit of sauce.

Is the steak cream risotto at Olibus too rich?

Olibus's steak cream risotto is piled with thick, tenderly grilled steak over a rich cream sauce. Carbs plus meat is always right.

The cream sauce is very rich and nutty, and the mild steak holds the center so it doesn't get too heavy.

The rice grains kept a pleasant bite, and the flavors of meat and cream blended nicely in the mouth.

Pepsi Zero Lime to cleanse the palate

Between bites of the delicious Italian dishes, a fresh, fizzy Pepsi Zero Lime cleansed the palate so neatly! It cut the calorie worry while adding fizz, so I could finish the meal happily to the last bite.

Who should go to Olibus in Eojin-dong, Sejong?

Olibus isn't just about atmosphere; I could feel the care in every dish we ordered, and the flavors were well balanced. For dates, important meetings, blind dates, or when you want to treat yourself on a special day, I strongly recommend it as a Sejong restaurant that won't let you down!
