The atmosphere at Project Lure

The first thing that made me gasp when I arrived was the atmosphere! The hip yet upscale, moody interior is unlike anything Daejeon has had until now, and it really impressed me.

Thanks to the private treatment space, I felt well looked after and could relax through the whole treatment.

Can damaged hair get a perm? The consultation with the director

At Project Lure in Sangdae-dong, they analyze your hair before treatment and work from a "custom prescription." From what I heard, the director is deeply knowledgeable about hair, both academically and technically, enough to teach directly at a hair-restoration academy in Seoul. It isn't simple chemical styling; they treat you with a precise prescription based on hair analysis.

My hair has a lot of damaged parts, so I hesitated about getting a perm, but true to a salon that specializes in rescuing ruined hair, they said they'd do the personal cut and perm without worrying about damage.

The magic setting process at Project Lure

1. Pre-treatment shampoo (hair diagnosis and preserving active ingredients)

Even before the main treatment, the pre-treatment shampoo step was different. It cleanly strips and dissolves leftover oil and silicone on the hair and opens the cuticle in advance so they can diagnose the hair's condition accurately. They explained that it removes impurities strongly while replenishing active ingredients that prevent loss of the hair's essential amino acids and lipids.

2. Reduction (custom-prescribed perm solution)

Rather than using one standardized solution, they mixed a perm solution made just for my hair's condition and applied it. It felt like a one-on-one hair prescription, not just applying perm solution, so I trusted it more.

3. Mid-process shampoo (removing the reducing agent and preventing heat damage)

After the solution softened the hair, the mid-process shampoo used a remover for leftover reducing agent and an alkali neutralizer. They say it thoroughly protects hair from the heat damage that can happen with a heat perm, and wipes out that harsh perm-chemical smell (residual odor)!

4. Heat protectant, winding and personal design

Next they set the right temperature for my hair, carefully applied heat protectant, and then did the winding. The personal magic setting design smooths the top section straight and makes natural curls below, and the designer's touch was truly delicate.

What are the massage shampoo bed and aromatherapy at Project Lure like?

At Project Lure, the neutralizing and finishing care in the later part of the treatment happen on a "massage shampoo bed" where you lie back. The shampoo room I moved to was simply heaven. I rarely see a massage shampoo bed at Daejeon salons, but they have one!

Getting a full-body massage while a soft aroma spread through the room melted away the fatigue built up during the treatment. It was premium care that really made me feel treated like a guest.

5. Acid rinse and high-performance clinic finish

After neutralizing, they did an "acid rinse," which steadily lowers the hair's pH to keep curls from loosening and adds shine and bounce.

Then they applied a high-performance clinic product that goes deep into the hair, beyond a simple treatment. They say it reinforces lipids, CMC, methyl eicosane, vitamin proteins and more, bonding even the inside of damaged hair firmly.

What was the personal magic setting result?

After the personal cut and magic setting at Project Lure, I just gave it a quick blow-dry and the frizzy damaged hair was completely gone. It turned into silky hair with a glowing angel ring!

I've tried several salons in Doan-dong and Bongmyeong-dong, but this is the first time I got such lively texture with such elegant curls. Styling in the morning is so easy now that I'd heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Daejeon that does women's hair well.
