Cheonan Buldang-dong sushi with a second round of flounder: Ganghan

Today I'm bringing you a review of a real sushi gem in Buldang-dong that my family has already revisited several times, all paid for ourselves — Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch!!

Where to park at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch

For parking, you use the First Plaza lot at the back, and you get 3 hours free. Buldang-dong is notoriously tough for parking, so I always check for a lot before heading out to eat — Ganghan Sushi takes that worry off my mind, which is really convenient~

I looked up the map before going too. Don't get the building mixed up — make sure you find the First Plaza building! Just self-register your parking at the pad before you leave and you can eat your meal worry-free :)

Nearly full even at 2pm

We deliberately avoided peak hours and visited around 2pm, well after lunchtime. And yet the place was almost completely full of customers — I was genuinely surprised. Guess this really is a spot that everyone in the know comes back to.

There's a menu board with the sushi sets and prices right at the entrance, so it's easy to pick your order while waiting. There's no break time either, so you can come in comfortably whenever you like.

Ordering by table tablet and the table setup

At Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch you order via T-order at the table and pay right there. We put a lot of thought into the menu with the kids, who are total sushi killers. There's also a 500-won happiness review service — we signed up and got inari sushi (seasoned fried tofu rice) as a freebie too ♡

Every table comes with ginger, rakkyo pickles, soy sauce, and sweet mint candy. I notice it every time I come — this kind of thoughtful touch is just so nice.

Open the drawer and you'll find soy sauce dishes, spoons, chopsticks, wet wipes, cups — all the basic tableware you'd need. Since it's kept in the drawer, it stays dust-free and feels really clean to use. And why are those little soy sauce dishes so cute? haha

Mini udon and seafood croquette with the meal

Order the signature menu and you get a mini udon and a crispy seafood croquette on the house. Great value right from the setup, right? The seafood croquette that comes out before the meal is nutty and crispy on the outside, soft and moist inside — perfect for building up your appetite. The warm mini udon broth is deep and clean too, pairing perfectly with the sushi.

Signature omakase sushi at Ganghan Sushi

There's one main menu you absolutely must order when you come to Ganghan Sushi — the signature omakase sushi.

It comes with a really solid lineup — flounder, salmon, tuna, seasonal fish, and more. The slices are thick, so the bite has a springy texture, and the balance of rice to wasabi is excellent. The moment it hits your mouth, it melts away with a fresh ocean scent — truly top-notch.

The extra-large flounder sushi our kid asked for again

If you love the nutty flavor and chewy texture unique to flounder, I absolutely recommend the extra-large flounder sushi.

True to its name, the fish slices are really big and long, so the more you chew, the more that clean, savory flavor bursts out. There's no fishiness at all, just a subtle sweetness — I ate it in awe.

My kid usually eats well anyway, but that day they said the flounder sushi was so good they wanted more. You know a kid's palate never lies, right? Without hesitation we ordered another round of the extra-large flounder sushi and filled up in a hearty, satisfying way.

Is Ganghan Sushi good for a family meal out?

I could only manage to take these interior shots after we'd finished eating and the other customers had cleared out. Overall it's a warm, tidy wood-toned interior, so it works great as a date spot and is also very pleasant for family dining. Best of all, even while busy, the staff treated us so kindly that I felt good the moment I walked in.
