Back at Rustic Smokehouse in Bojeong-dong, even without a birthday

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is a Bojeong-dong spot I first visited for a family birthday. Today isn't a birthday, but I came back anyway. Call it the Rustic Smokehouse thrill, or just plain excitement. I'd been looking forward to the warm, fun atmosphere and the delicious food. This is my third visit or more, and everything I've eaten here has been satisfying!

Atmosphere at Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong and dining with a child

Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong is wood-toned from the entrance onward. These days I think Rustic Smokehouse suits my taste better than that big-name steakhouse chain (the one I'll leave unnamed).

I like how the lighting, tables and chairs all share a similar tone. It makes for a warm mood. My birthday is in winter, and this is a place I'd love to come back to on my birthday. I also caught my wife and son looking around happily.

There's a waiting zone and a high chair too. It's great for families and works perfectly well as a date spot!

Rustic Smokehouse menu

The menu at Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong is a booklet. It covers everything from platters to set menus to single dishes, so you can order to your taste.

Today's order: truffle cream risotto, beef quesadilla and BBQ cheese sandwich. I'd reserved, so we were shown to a RESERVED table. The staff were friendly, which I appreciate!

Truffle cream risotto: is risotto good at a steakhouse?

Rustic Smokehouse's truffle cream risotto was a full-flavored dish: rich, creamy and silky, with garlic, mushrooms and truffle on top. I'd had risotto for lunch yesterday and still ordered it again. Cream risotto is delicious no matter how much you eat, and now with truffle too! I loved the rich cream, and the garlic and mushroom combination filled my mouth with flavor.

Bite after bite, my wife and I locked eyes and exchanged a look that said, "So good~" It was so tasty that I strongly recommended it to my son too, but he said it was hot and ate it slowly.

Cheese, garlic, truffle and cream fill your mouth, with a heavy, aromatic richness. Hearing the name Rustic Smokehouse, you'd think you should only eat steak, right? Not at all! The pasta and risotto are excellent too.

Beef quesadilla: the must-order at Rustic Smokehouse

My must-order at Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch in Bojeong-dong is the beef quesadilla. It reminds me of the quesadilla I ate back when my wife and I were dating, so I order it often, and the kids eat it well too. They say it's slightly spicy, but the flavor goes beyond the spice, so they keep picking at it.

It comes with a tomato salsa sauce, I think? Put it on top and it's even better, I'm in tears 😭

What does the BBQ cheese sandwich taste like?

Rustic Smokehouse's BBQ cheese sandwich is loaded with cheese in BBQ sauce, and inside it seemed to be packed with pulled pork? I ordered the sandwich for the first time this visit.

The three of us shared the BBQ cheese sandwich too, and the sauce hit with a real punch!

I thought of a cola but held back for my health. Then again, maybe I didn't need to. A cola as the finishing touch would make this a truly happy meal. (Did I hold back for nothing...?)

Why I keep coming back to Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch may be the place I've visited most among restaurants near my home. I like variety and trying restaurants I haven't been to, but Rustic Smokehouse in Bojeong-dong has guaranteed flavor, so whenever it crosses my mind I go straight there. The staff are friendly and the food is all delicious. I think it's even better with a cola! I haven't tried the platters or the steak yet, but next visit I will definitely have the steak!
