Pyeongtaek café with summer matcha lemon, grapefruit ade: Cafe Pomun
In short
Cafe Pomun is a baked goods and cake dessert café that has been open for 10 years on Chudam-ro in Icheung-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. On a holiday trip to visit her sister, the writer looked around both the main building and the annex and tried the summer menu Matcha and Lemon at 7,500 won, Orange Grapefruit Ade at 6,500 won, the signature Pomun Coffee at 6,500 won and two financiers. If you order just one drink at Cafe Pomun, make it the Pomun Coffee with almond milk and cookie cream, with the pistachio financier for dessert.

I went to visit my sister where she's been staying this holiday. Amid all the fun, I found a bunch of really delicious spots, so let me introduce them. Starting now~
Where is Cafe Pomun in Pyeongtaek, and is there parking?
Cafe Pomun is a dessert café at 58-26 Chudam-ro, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, that's been open for 10 years. There's plenty of parking behind the café, so no need to worry about that.

Even before going in, it radiates a warm atmosphere ✨️ The exterior already screams my style..
Inside the main building at Cafe Pomun

The interior has even more vibe — wood tones with a lush green feel ☘️ True to its reputation as a famous Pyeongtaek dessert spot, there were so many customers when I went that I couldn't get a photo of the 2nd floor,, it was so pretty though ㅠㅠㅠ
Cafe Pomun menu and what we ordered

Not just coffee but signature drinks, teas, and even a summer season menu! There's a wide range so you can pick to your taste.

And having run for 10 years, Cafe Pomun is a spot known for its baked goods and cakes. Full of expectations! Even the visuals look delicious~~

- Yellow Cheese Financier
- Pistachio Financier

Cafe Pomun also offers one free baked good to pregnant customers. Beyond that, there are little notes here and there that show the owner's thoughtfulness in how the place is run.. From the owner to the staff, everyone was so kind ✨️

Where you order is in the main building, which also has 2nd-floor seating, and right across from it there's an annex too — let's head over.
What is the Cafe Pomun annex like?

The annex has a totally different vibe from the main building — clean and stylish interior design. There's also a shelf of books on one side, and it seems nice to sit and read one for a bit if you have time.

Apparently the annex is a space created together by Cafe Pomun and DEUL. There's a QR code with product info, so it might be worth checking out.

The plants add a nice fresh accent, and it was fun looking around at the interior while waiting for our drinks.

If you're sitting at your table, they bring your drink right to you. So kind,,🫢
Signature Pomun Coffee, 6,500 won

👉 Pomun Coffee (₩6,500) — one of Cafe Pomun's signature menu items and the best coffee here. It has nutty almond milk plus cookie cream on top for great texture too! One sip in and I was genuinely surprised how good it was. If I had to pick just one thing to drink, I'd recommend the Pomun Coffee. Officially the best menu item ❗️
Orange Grapefruit Ade and café latte at Cafe Pomun

👉 Orange Grapefruit Ade ₩6,500 / Café Latte ₩5,300. The sweetness of orange combined with the sweet-bitter taste of fresh grapefruit makes for a drink that pairs really well together. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes something refreshing! I ordered the café latte hot, and it had a nice nutty flavor. It's definitely known as a dessert spot, but the coffee is naturally good too.
Summer menu: Matcha and Lemon, 7,500 won

👉 Matcha and Lemon ₩7,500. This is a summer season drink — matcha latte topped with lemon sherbet. I ordered it because I like matcha, and even though matcha and lemon sherbet don't seem like they'd go together, once you try it, the flavor is addictive. You feel the bitterness of the matcha, and the lemon sherbet cuts right through it — the combination turns out to be surprisingly good 😮
How do the yellow cheese and pistachio financiers taste?

👉 Yellow Cheese Financier ₩3,900 / Pistachio Financier ₩4,800. The yellow cheese financier has a subtle cheese aroma coming through, and the bread itself is chewy and delicious, while the pistachio financier is generously topped with pistachios for pure nutty richness. Now I get why they're famous for their financiers..

Cafe Pomun's financiers made me realize that not all financiers are the same — this Icheung-dong spot is a standout. Out of all the financiers I've ever had, I can confidently say these rank number one!! If I lived in Pyeongtaek, I'd keep coming back here to try every single drink and dessert on the menu hahahaha.
The atmosphere is so nice, and the coffee and desserts are delicious, so it's a place I'd want to visit again. Great for a date, and great to visit with family too. I lost track of time just chatting away haha.
