In short
Dahamyeondwaeji1982 (다하면돼지1982) is a raw pork belly restaurant on Gwangwangteukgu-ro in Songtan, Pyeongtaek. Two diners ordered three servings of raw pork belly and two bowls of black rice, then paid 3,000 won extra to swap the standard shabu broth for half doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and half kimchi jjigae. Thick belly cuts with the cartilage still attached plus two stews in one sitting make Dahamyeondwaeji1982 a solid choice for a Korean BBQ get-together in Pyeongtaek.

On days I'm craving pork belly, I can't help but obsess over the quality of the meat first~ This time I visited Dahamyeondwaeji1982, a well-known Songtan restaurant serving the top 1% grade of female Korean native pork belly~!

Where is Dahamyeondwaeji1982, and where do you park?
Dahamyeondwaeji1982 is located on the 2nd floor at 21 Gwangwangteukguro, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do. You can park in front of the building, and there's parking support if you use the public lot right next door, so it was fine to visit by car~

990-won draft beer and the 9,900-won lunch special
What caught my eye when I arrived was the pricing: draft beer at ₩990, soju and beer at ₩2,500. Pretty great if you like pairing drinks with your meat~ There's also a lunch special until 2pm, and a ₩9,900 set menu, so it seemed worth timing your visit around that.

There's also an outdoor smoking area on the 3rd floor, so smokers can take note~
I visited on a weekday evening and there were quite a few people dining. The place itself is spacious, so it seemed like a good spot for group gatherings among Pyeongtaek's Korean BBQ restaurants~!

Ordering raw pork belly for three with the half-and-half stew swap
We sat down and used the table order system to get three servings of raw pork belly and two black rice. Ordering meat normally comes with a default half seafood, half spicy shabu broth, but for an extra ₩3,000 you can switch it to doenjang jjigae and kimchi jjigae, which we did~ You just need to mention the swap when the staff first asks!

Basic side dishes that pair well with the meat were set out, and you grab your own wrap greens from the self-serve bar~

What's on the self-serve lettuce wrap bar
The self-serve bar had a lot of variety and was super clean~ For wraps, there was green leaf lettuce, perilla leaves, minari (water dropwort), and cabbage, so I could easily grab as much as I wanted!
The moment the raw pork belly came out, the thickness caught my eye~ The chunky cuts even had cartilage attached, which looked really appetizing! The raw pork belly clearly looked fresh, and I felt like I'd found the right Songtan pork belly restaurant~!

How does the thick raw pork belly taste?
They placed our half-and-half stew swap on the induction burner and told us to bring it to a boil, then turn it down once it did~
They put the raw pork belly on the grill, cooked it golden-brown on both sides, and cut it into easy-to-eat pieces~

I tried the first bite with just a light dip in salt, and the juiciness came through nicely — really tasty.

After that, I ate it wrapped with lettuce and kimchi~ It had a totally different savory depth compared to eating the meat plain, so I kept reaching for more!

Doenjang jjigae and kimchi jjigae, side by side
What I personally loved was being able to try both types of stew! Normally you'd have to pick either doenjang jjigae or kimchi jjigae, but at Dahamyeondwaeji1982 you get to try both~!

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) with blue crab was savory yet refreshing with a spicy kick, and well seasoned — this one was more my style~!

My husband said he preferred the kimchi jjigae with pork belly in it. Different tastes, but respected either way — it was still great being able to try both~

After finishing the meat, it was time for king oyster mushrooms, potatoes, and sausage! Grilled until golden, the texture got even better.

After the meal, there was mix coffee, plum juice, and iced tea available too, but I was too full to try them this time.

At the checkout counter, there were even toothpicks, floss, and vitamin candy set out — the thoughtful little touches stood out to me.

Is Dahamyeondwaeji1982 worth it for two people?
Eating three servings of raw pork belly, two types of stew, and rice between two of us left us seriously full~ Considering the quality of the meat, the menu setup, and the price, this is a place worth visiting when you're looking for a good Songtan restaurant! The spacious layout also made it look great not just for a meal for two, but for larger group gatherings too~

If you're looking for a Pyeongtaek Korean BBQ restaurant where you can enjoy thick raw pork belly along with a stew, I recommend Dahamyeondwaeji1982, a corkage-free Songtan pork belly restaurant in Pyeongtaek!
