Is it a good place for chicken and beer with soccer or baseball on the big screen?

The inside has a pub-like feel, with long tables that run on and on, so it looked well suited to groups and gatherings. There's also a big screen, so getting a group together to cheer on a soccer or baseball game over chicken and beer seems like the perfect setup, doesn't it?

What's on the Puradak menu?

Puradak says it uses only fresh domestic chicken and cooks it by a combined oven-and-fry method for tastier chicken, so I was looking forward to it even before the food arrived.

The complimentary sides were snacks and pickled radish, and it was yellow danmuji radish rather than the usual chicken-mu radish, which felt a little different!

Puradak half + Gochu half (bone-in) for ₩20,900: how did it taste?

First look at the half fried, half Gochu chicken

The chicken looked so good at first sight that my mouth watered. I ordered half fried and half Gochu chicken, and it was a fantastic combination.

Fried: crispy skin and juicy meat

First, the Puradak fried chicken: the moment you bite in, the skin shatters with a crunch, and the meat is full of juice, mild and nutty.

The sauce that came with it was spicy too, so I never got tired of it, and the subtle flavor typical of fried chicken really comes through. It's a taste anyone can enjoy.

Gochu Mayo: jalapeño kick and creamy mayo

Gochu Mayo adds the sharp heat of jalapeño to a smooth mayo sauce. It tasted clean without being greasy, and I kept reaching for more.

Even people who can't handle spicy food should manage it, since the rich, creamy mayo is mixed in.

Side dish: spicy broth tteokbokki for ₩12,000

The spicy broth tteokbokki at Puradak Daegu Igok is topped with a heap of fried fish cake, and the rice cakes were chewy and well soaked in sauce. Totally my style.

There weren't any special toppings, but the spicy broth had real depth, and it paired well with the chicken, so I enjoyed it a lot.

The staff were friendly too, so we had a lovely time. If you're looking for good chicken in Seongseo, I recommend a nice round of chicken and beer at Puradak Daegu Igok~
