How long was the weekday dinner wait at Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch?

Even on a weekday evening, we waited about 40 minutes before getting in. It's a shabu-shabu buffet that just opened in Yaeum-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, and I went on a weekday evening after hearing the opening news. Way more people were there than I expected. It looked like a great spot for a family meal or a group get-together, too.

Atmosphere, shabu-shabu and sushi at Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch

Hotel-dining-style hall at Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch

Rather than an ordinary shabu-shabu buffet, the space felt clean and stylish, like a hotel dining room. I think it would suit family gatherings, meals with friends and company dinners alike.

Shabre Garden lets you enjoy premium shabu-shabu (thinly sliced meat and vegetables cooked in hot broth) together with sushi. Besides the shabu-shabu, where you dip fresh vegetables and other ingredients into the broth, there was a variety of sushi prepared by skilled chefs. The shabu-shabu ingredients were kept fresh, and there was a good range of vegetables. I liked that you could pick whatever you wanted and build your own plate.

The sushi corner was popular, too. There were many kinds of sushi, and anything running low was refilled quickly, so it was easy to eat comfortably. Shabu-shabu alone might feel like something's missing, so having sushi as well made it even more satisfying.

50-plus side dishes and unlimited draft beer

Another thing that impressed me at Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch was the 50-plus side dishes.

One plate from the self-bar and the order I ate my shabu-shabu

I piled a bit of everything I wanted from the self-bar onto my plate. From fresh salad to fried food to sushi, there was so much variety that I honestly couldn't decide what to eat first. It was fun trying things one by one, and the food was kept clean and in good condition, which I liked.

Once the broth started boiling, I put in the vegetables first. With plenty of fresh greens going in, the broth turned even more refreshing and deep.

I cooked the meat I'd brought from the self-bar in the broth. Being able to eat as much as I wanted was so satisfying ♥️

I swished the thinly sliced meat briefly in the broth and dipped it in the house sauce. The texture was tender and the meat's flavor really came through, so I kept reaching for more.

Eating it with vegetables made it even cleaner-tasting, and I really felt the charm of shabu-shabu.
