Among eating-out options, shabu-shabu (hot pot of thinly sliced beef and vegetables) is one we keep coming back to for family meals. The kids happily eat meat, sausage and rice cakes in a clear broth, while the adults get spicy broth, noodles and even Vietnamese-style wraps.

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch (다담샤브샤브&월남쌈 위례점) near Namwirye Station lets you enjoy unlimited-beef shabu-shabu and Vietnamese-style wraps together. It puts its effort into the beef and vegetables rather than a lot of side dishes, focusing on shabu-shabu and wraps, so the value is really good.

So many places offer unlimited beef plus wraps these days, and today I visited this Namwirye Station favorite!

Maybe that's why there were so many families with kids when I visited. Seeing it in person, I understood why it's a Wirye favorite.

Fresh vegetables and unlimited beef

The first thing that caught my eye at Dadam Wirye Branch was the fresh vegetables.

The owner said a wide variety of vegetables are brought in from Garak Market every day, and you could feel the freshness from the colors alone. Vegetables are the soul of shabu-shabu, so fresh ones put me in a good mood. The beef is unlimited, in beef belly (usamgyeop) and chuck (umokshim).

• Chuck (umokshim) = clean-tasting with good flavor

All the vegetables you want, all the meat you want. That seems to be why so many families come.

What broths are there? Half-and-half to your taste

At Dadam Wirye Branch you can choose from these three broths.

• Clear broth
• Spicy broth (about as hot as Shin Ramyun)
• Seafood broth

I loved that kids can eat meat and vegetables in the clear broth while adults enjoy the spicy, kicky one.

Shabu-shabu → noodles → porridge course

First, enjoy plenty of meat and vegetables,

then add kalguksu (knife-cut noodles),

and finally make porridge. There's no more filling meal than this. You think you can't fit any porridge, but the broth is full of the flavor of the meat and vegetables, so you end up finishing it all, haha.

Wraps too

Another charm of Dadam Wirye Branch is the Vietnamese-style wraps (wolnamssam).

Pile beef belly and fresh vegetables onto rice paper and roll it up, and you won't envy any dedicated wrap restaurant.

I liked being able to enjoy it in different ways instead of only eating shabu-shabu :)

Dessert at the Dadam Cafeteria

After a full meal, you can't skip dessert.

At the Dadam Cafeteria you can have an Americano brewed from top-grade beans, and even make an affogato with ice cream. Finish your meal and have dessert all in one place!

What's the atmosphere? Window seats overlooking Changgokcheon

The restaurant overall has a modern, clean feel,

and each seat has a partition, so you're nicely separated from the next table. From the window seats you look down on Changgokcheon stream, which kept me in a good mood throughout the meal.

It feels private, so I think it suits gatherings as well as family meals.

Dadam Wirye Branch also does takeout for shabu-shabu and wraps. The minimum order is ₩7,900, and you put the ingredients you want into a container yourself, then pay.

If you want a tasty meal with the family, I recommend Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch near Namwirye Station. The beef was good quality for unlimited, and fresh vegetables plus wraps made it even more satisfying.
