Sinnonhyeon dakgalbi served pre-cooked at the table: Dakgalbijeon

In short

Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is a dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and potato pancake restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diovil, near Exit 9 of Sinnonhyeon Station in Seocho, Seoul. Two friends ordered gamssachidak for two with added sweet potato noodles and a zero-sugar cola, ate the dakgalbi as soon as the cheese melted since it arrives largely cooked, wrapped it in perilla-leaf potato pancake, and finished with cheese fried rice. For a pair, the dakgalbi, pancake and fried rice line-up at Dakgalbijeon makes a filling meal.

Today I want to introduce a great spot for when you're craving dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) somewhere between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. This time I visited Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch!

It's not just a dakgalbi place — as the name suggests, you can also enjoy jeon (Korean pancake) menu items, which had me curious. I heard the combo of wrapping dakgalbi in potato pancake is especially famous, so I went with a friend :)

Where to park near Sinnonhyeon Station

It's close to Exit 9 of Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and since it's a restaurant with parking in Gangnam, it's also convenient if you're driving!

Is Dakgalbijeon good for a Gangnam Station get-together?

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the Gangnam Diovil building.

Overall it has a casual, comfortable vibe, so it feels easy to visit with friends, for a work dinner, or a family gathering!

Group seating at Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch

There are multiple tables and seating for groups, so it seemed good for visiting with a larger party too.

Restaurants with parking near Gangnam Station aren't that easy to find, so I really liked that you can use the building's basement parking.

✨ After some deliberation, we ordered gamssachidak for two, added sweet potato noodles, and a zero-calorie cola

Check out Dakgalbijeon's event too ◡̈ We got free milddeok (rice cake noodles) since we were a women's table !!🤭

It finally arrived! Cheese dakgalbi for two + sweet potato noodles + milddeok noodles ✨

The visuals alone got my mouth watering — that red sauce was properly coating everything haha

Dakgalbi dipped in melted cheese

The dakgalbi came already cooked to some degree, so we didn't have to keep stir-frying it at the table while waiting, which was convenient. We just melted the cheese a bit more and dug right in

A tender piece of cooked dakgalbi

The chicken was tender, and the sauce wasn't just spicy for the sake of it — it was sweet and spicy in a way that kept us reaching for more haha

We put the thinly fried potato pancake and dakgalbi together and tried it — the savory potato flavor and spicy dakgalbi matched better than I expected ~!

It's a totally different vibe than just eating dakgalbi on its own, so we kept wrapping bite after bite lol

Finishing the meal with cheese fried rice

Of course we finished with cheese fried rice!!! After eating a good amount of dakgalbi, we couldn't just walk away without adding cheese fried rice haha

✔️ The flavor of the fried rice depends on the leftover dakgalbi, so you need to leave some dakgalbi before frying it for the best taste

Finished cheese fried rice on the hot plate

Frying the rice on the pan with the leftover sauce meant the flavor soaked right into the rice — so good haha. With cheese added on top, the spicy dakgalbi sauce paired perfectly with the savory, soft cheese.

I pretty much think fried rice is a must when eating dakgalbi, so I ate it all up to the very last bite lol. Especially after the potato pancake and dakgalbi, finishing with fried rice made the meal surprisingly filling.

If you're going with two people, I highly recommend the combo of dakgalbi, potato pancake, and fried rice together 👍
