The hall is mostly 4-seat tables with one separate round group table, which makes Dakgalbijeon an easy pick for a gathering near Gangnam Station, and this visit was gamssachidak for two at 40,000 won plus udon noodles at 3,000 won and flying fish roe fried rice at 3,000 won. Today I visited Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch, a dakgalbi place I'd heard great things about in Gangnam haha. Sinnonhyeon Station is actually closer than Gangnam Station, so getting off wherever's easier for you should work fine!!

Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building, so you go up an outdoor staircase to get there :)

It's the first restaurant you see when you get up to the 2nd floor, so it shouldn't be hard to find haha

There's also a notice about waiting — since the group table is separate, they explain that the waiting order might seem out of sequence, so don't be confused haha

Now let's head inside and eat some delicious dakgalbi shall we? hahahahaha

4-seat tables and one round group table: how does Dakgalbijeon work for a gathering?
The hall at Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is mostly 4-seat tables, with a separate round table set aside for group guests. Seating isn't super plentiful, so there can be a wait depending on the time.
When we walked in, the place was packed with people — proof it's a real local favorite haha. And since there aren't that many seats, you might have to wait a bit ㅠㅠ

I also noticed the slogan 'the rice paddle is mine' on the wall haha

We sat at one of the 4-seat tables, which made up most of the seating

And this round table is the group seating I mentioned earlier

Self-serve side dish refills and aprons at Dakgalbijeon
The first round of side dishes is provided, but refills are self-serve
The extra side dishes you can grab yourself are pickled radish, kimchi, and danmuji (yellow pickled radish)

There are aprons available too, so if you're worried about dakgalbi splatter, feel free to grab one and put it on!!

Free noodle add-on for a receipt review, plus the prize draw event
Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch also runs an event — leave a Naver receipt review and you get a free noodle add-on
and if you save the page and turn on notifications, you can try the nostalgic gachapon draw, where first prize is the perilla leaf potato pancake!!

Back at our table, let's order what we're going to eat haha
Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch menu and what we ordered

<Menu board>
Today's order
- Gamssachidak (2 servings) ₩40,000
- Udon noodles ₩3,000
- Fish roe fried rice ₩3,000
Gamssachidak for two, 40,000 won, with udon noodles added
What we ordered was gamssachidak for two!!! And we added udon noodles into the dakgalbi

Cheese is piled on top, so you need to stir-fry it slowly on low heat to melt the cheese
Watching the cheese melt little by little — the smell and the look of it were both amazing

I tried the well-cooked udon noodles and they were completely chewy, with the sauce soaked in nicely

Then I tried the cheese-melted dakgalbi — it wasn't too spicy at all, just the right seasoning, so I was happy the whole time eating it hahaha

How to wrap cheese dakgalbi in the perilla leaf potato pancake
And here's the perilla leaf potato pancake that came with it — this is totally the highlight!!!👍🏻👍🏻

See how crispy the edges look? The potato pancake is completely chewy while that edge part is crispy — that contrast was so good!!!!
So you tear it apart like this

and pile on the dakgalbi — exactly like the dish's name, gamssachidak (wrapped chicken) haha. I really recommend wrapping it in the potato pancake :)
Finishing with flying fish roe fried rice, 3,000 won
And when you're at a dakgalbi place, you've got to have the fish roe fried rice ☺️☺️
The staff kindly stir-fries it all for you — even though we were already full from the dakgalbi, we still wanted more hahahaha

A really appetizing fried rice came together haha
I took a spoonful of the fried rice too
and there's a bit of cheese mixed in there as well, so the popping texture of the fish roe went really well with the softness of the cheese haha
That's Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch — gamssachidak with added udon noodles, finished off with fish roe fried rice ☺️ If you're someone who feels a dakgalbi meal is incomplete without noodle add-ons and fried rice, this is worth keeping in mind as a spot to enjoy with friends near Gangnam Station :)
