Bored & Hungry Mapo is a burger restaurant about a 5-minute walk from Exit 4 of Daeheung Station. It's open daily from 11:00 to 20:50 (last order 15:10 / 20:10), with a break from 15:50 to 17:00.
It's close to Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it's perfect for a casual meal during a stroll 👏 They say there are paid public parking lots nearby, but I'd recommend coming on foot to keep things easy 😘

The inside is decorated with oddly annoying-looking monkeys, but the more you look, the cuter they get. Totally my style

When you order a drink, it comes as an ice cup, and you can refill as much as you like at the self bar. Love that about this Daeheung Station burger spot 👍

While we waited at our seats, the staff brought out our insanely good-looking burger sets! Neatly plated on trays, just perfect 😍
Seasoned fries vs butter garlic fries: which is better?
The sets let you choose your fries, so we picked the basic one and the butter garlic one. Spoiler: the butter garlic fries were totally my style. Even the burger wrapper has a cute monkey peeking out 🐵 Both look delicious, right?
The basic fries were nicely salty, classic fries. The butter garlic fries are evenly dusted with a sweet powder and topped with plenty of sauce, a taste that totally makes you think of beer 🤩
How does the Shrimp O.G Burger taste?
The Shrimp O.G Burger has a shrimp patty so thick you can't fit it in one bite, loaded with sriracha and mentaiko mayo sauce (pollock roe mayo), plus onion and veggies. The sauce was the real kick 👋 The faintly, slightly spicy sauce went really well with the patty, where you can still taste the shrimp 👏
How does the Classic Cheese Burger taste?
The Classic Cheese Burger at Bored & Hungry Mapo is exactly what it says: a very classic combo of smash patty, grilled onion and cheese. It tastes like something anyone would find easy to enjoy 🤗
Chili's Mutant Cheese Stick: is one enough?
Chili's Mutant Cheese Stick (₩4,500) is way bigger than I expected, so one is plenty. We ordered it because the burger sets alone felt a little lacking 🤪 The cheese stick that's so hot right now and swept across the US is here at Bored & Hungry Mapo too? Of course we had to try it right away.
The big cheese stick comes out evenly coated in seasoning. When you carefully cut it with a knife, the cheese flows out stretchy 🤭
You can feel the cheese overflowing just by looking, right? Dip it generously in the sauce that comes with it and take a big bite. Even with all that cheese it isn't greasy, and the more sauce you dip, the more flavorful it gets. So good 😋

From the burgers to the fries and sides, every item is crazy good quality, tastes great, and you can eat until you're stuffed.
