Solo bar near Konkuk Univ Station for darts with strangers: Yahwa

In short

Yahwa Solo Drinking Bar Konkuk University Branch (야화 혼술바 건대점) is a solo drinking bar on basement level 1, a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Konkuk University Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. On a solo visit at 9pm on a Thursday, the writer had a non-alcoholic blue lemonade, New York cheesecake and truffle potato chips, and joined the neighboring guests for darts and balance games until the bar was full. Yahwa Konkuk is an easy place to go alone and a good second-round bar near Konkuk University that stays open until dawn.

Location and hours of Yahwa Solo Bar Konkuk Branch

I visited Yahwa, a solo bar in Konkuk, located in the basement at 16-4 Achasan-ro 33-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The weather was absolutely insane that day, but it was easy to find since it's only about 2 minutes on foot from Exit 2 of Konkuk University Station ㅠ_ㅠ

Right outside there was a row of taxis waiting on the main road too, so it's a convenient spot for grabbing a cab even in the middle of the night! Monday through Thursday it's open from 8pm to 5am, and Friday through Sunday from 7pm to 6am the next day, so you can play until morning — a great solo bar in Konkuk whether you want a second-round spot, good vibes, or somewhere that stays open late.

Visiting at 9pm on a Thursday, the place fills up fast

I went around 9pm on a Thursday, and it looked like this at first, but customers kept streaming in and before I knew it, the place was completely full.

It's a great Konkuk solo bar for showing up early, drinking on your own while chatting casually with the young owner and staff, and then having the fun of naturally getting to know new people as more customers trickle in.

A solo bar that actually sells food, plus a Naver review cocktail

These days a lot of solo bars let you bring your own snacks but don't sell food themselves, so it was nice that Yahwa had everything ready, from desserts to simple bar snacks.

On top of that, if you leave a Naver receipt review you get a free cocktail, which made it an even better value solo bar in Konkuk.

Darts, hair ties and mouthwash — extras only at the Konkuk branch

This was also the first branch, out of all the Yahwa solo bars I've been to, that had a dart game set up. Playing together naturally livened up the mood, which was fun haha

On a hot day, they had plenty of hair ties ready, which was so useful, plus mouthwash and deodorant spray — an absolute lifesaver in this kind of heat.

The 'To My Ex' guestbook placed on the table

On one side of the table there was a guestbook-like book called 'To My Ex,' and reading through page after page, I could feel everyone's rage ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ it was genuinely fun to look through ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

New York cheesecake and truffle potato chips, my favorite snacks at Yahwa

That day I ordered the non-alcoholic blue lemonade, New York cheesecake, and truffle potato chips. The food at Yahwa is surprisingly good, so while mingling with people is fun, honestly I also just want to go back for the food haha

My favorite snacks at Yahwa in particular are the New York cheesecake and the truffle potato chips — the cheesecake comes out really cold, so it's sweet and chilly at the same time, which pairs perfectly with drinks. The truffle potato chips are addictive in a way that once you start, you can't stop ㅋㅋ Even the chicken drumstick crackers that come out as a free snack, without ordering anything extra, are tasty :)

Mixing tables with the neighbors over a balance game

At some point, our whole table just got friendly with each other, playing games and chatting nonstop. We talked about all kinds of things through a balance game, and naturally started a conversation with the people at the table next to us.

I asked the person sitting next to me, - Where are you from? and they answered - Home. So I said - Wait, are you from Daegu? and it turned out they really were ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I remembered once at a different solo bar I asked someone - When are you leaving? and they said - Sunday. So I asked if they were from Daegu, and they were too ㅋㅋㅋ Daegu people really have a consistent way of talking ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Non-alcoholic Orange Sunrise made without grenadine syrup
Moonlight Peony cocktail and a glass of the Yahwa cocktail

Orange Sunrise and the taste of the Moonlight Peony cocktail

For my second non-alcoholic drink I ordered the Orange Sunrise, and I asked them to leave out the grenadine syrup and just use orange juice, which they made exactly as I asked ෆ ෆ ෆ

The person across from me offered me a taste of the Yahwa cocktail they got from the Naver review event, and it was stronger than I expected! The person next to me recommended I try the Moonlight Peony cocktail too, and it tasted like bubblegum — sweeter and better than I expected! Highly recommend if you like sweet cocktails!

Is it okay to go alone?

I was having so much fun that I didn't even get a photo of the place once it filled up ㅎ.ㅎ It's not awkward at all going alone, so it's great for spending time by yourself, but also great for naturally mixing with people and finding new kinds of fun — a solid solo bar in Konkuk.

If you're looking for a solo bar in Konkuk or a second-round Konkuk bar that stays open late, give Yahwa Solo Bar Konkuk Branch a try :) I'm heading out again today too — new solo bar, where's the fun dopamine at~?
