In short
Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch is a Mexican restaurant right in the middle of Mangwon Market in Mapo, Seoul. Visiting around 1pm on a weekday with her boyfriend, the writer ordered the triple fajita platter and a pulled pork taco, and unlimited tortilla refills, three sauces and free cilantro meant the two of them ate their fill with nothing extra to pay. I went to Taco Dot, a famous spot in Mangwon-dong, with my boyfriend! It's in the perfect location to duck into when you get hungry while browsing Mangwon Market. And the tacos here are seriously amazing... zero regrets ❤️
There are also lots of good bakeries in Mangwon, so if you're on a Mangwon date, buy your girlfriend some bread for dessert too and score some points haha (super important;)

Where is Taco Dot in Mangwon Market, and what are its hours?
Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch sits completely in the center of Mangwon Market, which gives it a really distinctive vibe. One side is the market and the other feels totally like Mexico — so exotic haha.

After taking my Korean history exam, I wandered around near Mangwon Station a bit before heading into Taco Dot. Since last order is at 2pm, we went in around 1pm, and even on a weekday there were a lot of people. I guess it really is a taco place people line up for.

How do you order at Taco Dot, and how much food do you get?
Taco Dot has a kiosk where you choose takeout or dine-in before ordering food. There's also a paper menu, so you can order right from the table, which was convenient. There are tacos that come 2 pieces at a time, and platters you plate yourself. If you're a big eater, I'd order a platter plus plate tacos, or add a side. If you eat light or have a small appetite, even a few plate tacos will fill you up plenty!

The atmosphere is exotic and distinctive, so it's a great spot for a Mangwon Market date. When you want something special beyond the usual Korean or Japanese food but don't want to sacrifice taste, Taco Dot is just perfect 👍

Taco Dot's self-service station, blankets included
The self-service station has water, hot sauce, and utensils, but it's self-serve so you have to grab them yourself. There are also blankets available, which seems really nice for anyone who gets cold easily.

What comes on Taco Dot's triple fajita platter?
The visuals are insane...
Order list Triple fajita platter Pulled pork taco

The paper menu says the triple fajita platter comes with jerk chicken, pork, and shrimp, but maybe it's been renewed, because ours came with pulled pork, pork, and shrimp instead :) So much hearty protein

There was yogurt sauce and cilantro

And chopped tomato and onion, plus tomato salsa

Unlimited tortilla refills and free cilantro at Taco Dot
Three sauces, cilantro, coleslaw, plus unlimited tortillas and sauce refills!! Most taco places charge extra for tortilla refills, and when you're working through a platter you always run short and end up paying extra every time, ugh. But Taco Dot doesn't do that.

I love piling on tons of cilantro (koriander), so free cilantro as standard means the owner here really gets it. At first I ate the pulled pork with all the various sauces, but honestly — as a Korean who loves wrapping food in something — how could I ever dislike tacos... it's just so ridiculously good

The pork was cut into generous chunks with no skimping, and had just the right amount of fat, so it was tasty on its own, but paired with the tortilla it was an even better match.

And the shrimp — so big and plump. It was seasoned really well with salt and pepper, giving it a nice balance of clean flavor and savory saltiness, exactly my taste, and you could really taste each ingredient and sauce combo when eaten with the tortilla, so lots of combinations were possible. Both my boyfriend and I thought the pulled pork was seasoned the best and had the best meat flavor and balance — personally my favorite. The pork had a good chew too, and eating it with hot sauce cut through the richness nicely.

How does the pulled pork taco taste?
One of the best items — the pulled pork taco. I really wanted the mango shrimp taco with actual mango on top, but my boyfriend prefers a safe, reliable flavor haha lol.

It came loaded with shredded cheese, tons of meat, pink salsa sauce, and more. Where the fajita had grilled onion and bell pepper for a smoky, slightly oily flavor, the plate taco felt a bit lighter and kept making you want another bite. Conclusion: I can't pick a favorite... anyway, along with the triple fajita platter

we refilled the wheat tortillas one more time. So, so full.

An empty platter with nothing left but vegetables haha. If you're looking for a hearty meal in Mangwon Market, Taco Dot is it!!
