Where do you park at Hado in Haenggung-dong, Suwon?

It's easiest to use the Gyodong public parking lot right next to Hado (HADO). You can also get one hour of free parking after your meal, which took a lot of the stress out of eating in Haenggung-dong with a car. I came here while looking for a course restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Haenggung-dong, Suwon.

Hado's exterior is done mostly in black, so it stood out even as I walked past, and the wine bottle decorations at the entrance gave it a casual but slightly wine-bar feel.

How much is the course at Hado, and what's the vibe?

I had the ₩45,000 per person course at Hado, and for the price the food was generous and the plating was pretty, so I was happy with it. It's casual dining, so it isn't stuffy, yet the dishes come out one by one in course style, which made it a good fit for a date or anniversary meal.

The interior is also in black and gray tones, calm and stylish. The tables weren't cramped, and the soft lighting would suit an evening date. There are quite a few seats all the way to the back, plus a long sofa bench running along the wall, so the space felt roomier than I expected.

What's in the ₩45,000 course at Hado, in order?

Starter: pea tart and marinated tart

The Hado course began with bite-sized tarts to wake up the appetite. One is a tart made with pea, and the other is topped with freshly marinated ingredients. We were advised to eat them by hand in one bite, and the crisp tart shell went so well with the soft, fresh filling that the very first dish was already fun.

Pasta bisque

Next came the pasta, and the pasta bisque that followed at Hado was good too. It was rich without being heavy, with a savory seafood depth that made it a nice bridge to the next dish.

The tastiest: squid ink pasta

What I enjoyed most in the Hado course was the squid ink pasta. The deep squid ink sauce had soaked right into the noodles, and tender seafood sat on top. The sauce wasn't overly salty or heavy, so it ate cleaner than I expected, and the look was striking, great for photos.

Main: sous vide chicken breast steak

The main was a sous vide chicken breast steak. Chicken breast sounds like it would be dry, but cooked sous vide, the inside was moist and tender.

It had a nutty crust on the outside for good texture, and eaten with the yellow purée underneath, the soft, mellow sweetness paired nicely with the mild chicken.

Dessert: black sesame ice cream

The last dessert in the Hado course is black sesame ice cream. It has a strong, nutty black sesame flavor without being too sweet, a good way to close the course. A thin, crisp garnish on top made a fun texture contrast with the smooth ice cream.

How does the table CD player at Hado work?

Another fun thing at Hado was the CD player set up at the table. If you bring a CD you like, you can pop it in and listen yourself, and the instructions are kindly handwritten on the back. These days we're so used to music on our phones that this analog touch felt special. Bringing a favorite CD to play on a date sounds fun too.

Hado also provides disposable stick mouthwash. It's a surprisingly handy service if you have other plans right after pasta or seafood. Seeing such small details taken care of, it felt like they cared about the whole experience, not just the meal.

Is Hado in Haenggung-dong, Suwon worth a return visit?

For ₩45,000 per person, Hado lets you enjoy everything from starter to bisque, pasta, main and dessert in order, and the atmosphere is good too, so it works well for a date or anniversary meal in Haenggung-dong. It's a place I'd like to visit again when I want a course meal in a mood that isn't too heavy.
