Black pork BBQ near Jeju Airport, kid-friendly: Sicheong Geuttaegeujip
In short
Sicheong Geuttaegeujip is a black pork BBQ restaurant on Donggwang-ro 1-gil near Jeju City Hall, where the pork is grilled twice at 200°C. On the first night of a Jeju trip with just my child, we ordered the black pork set for two (pork belly and neck, half and half); the staff seared it first and then grilled it at our table, and kimchi jjigae and steamed egg came free. My child, who normally never touches grilled pork, ate plate after plate — a genuinely satisfying first meal in Jeju.

Why we chose Sicheong Geuttaegeujip for black pork near Jeju Airport
On the first night of my first Jeju trip, traveling solo with my kid, we ate at Sicheong Geuttaegeujip, a black pork spot near Jeju Airport. This place specializes in black pork cooked twice at 200°C and sits near Jeju City Hall, making it an easy stop close to the airport too. It's known as a spot where singer Lim Young-woong once ate, and it turned out to be a great place to try proper Jeju black pork.

This black pork specialist near Jeju Airport is apparently famous enough to run 12 locations across Jeju alone — Aewol, Sehwa, Hallim, Hyeopjae, the airport, Nohyeong, and more. On top of that, word of mouth has spread even further since Lim Young-woong visited.
My kid, who doesn't usually love grilled pork, was suddenly insisting we had to eat black pork since we were in Jeju, so I looked this place up. It exceeded expectations so much that I plan to come back every time we visit Jeju from now on.
What 7pm on a weekday looks like at Sicheong Geuttaegeujip, and what's on the menu
We arrived just past 7pm, and the spacious restaurant was nearly full, proving its popularity (I took this photo after some guests had already left). Seeing this many people on a weekday confirmed that this black pork spot near Jeju Airport is a genuine local favorite.

Visiting with just my kid, the staff were friendly and attentive, so we ate comfortably without any awkwardness. The menu is organized by category, with prices set per number of diners. Beyond grilled items, there are also full meal menus like stews, so quite a few people seemed to be there just for a quick, simple meal.

Self-serve side dish bar and the free kimchi jjigae and steamed egg
This restaurant near Jeju City Hall and the airport brought out a full table of side dishes the moment we ordered — a thoughtful spread that pairs perfectly with grilled meat. What I especially liked was that there's a separate self-serve bar, so we could always refill any side dish that ran low.

On top of that, kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) and steamed egg came free, letting us feel Jeju's generous hospitality all at once. The kimchi jjigae came ready to simmer on a burner, and the fluffy, pillowy steamed egg was perfect for taking the edge off our hunger right away.
They clearly explained that we could use the self-serve bar anytime for more side dishes, and that the meat, already pre-grilled once, would be out after a short wait — that clear, friendly service felt satisfying too.

The black pork set for two: belly and neck, half and half, grilled at your table
We chose the black pork set for two with pork belly and neck, half and half, and along with the meat portioned by weight, we got a generous helping of garnish mushrooms and shrimp too. What I liked most about this black pork spot near Jeju Airport is that beyond the pre-grilling, they grill tableside at every table, making it a comfortable meal even with a kid.
With tableside grilling service and great taste on top of it, this place felt like genuinely good value. I had a hunch we'd found a real gem, and I was right!

They grilled the vegetables and shrimp generously too, and the well-cooked pork belly and neck were cut into easy-to-eat pieces along the way, so we could eat right as things finished cooking. This black pork spot near Jeju Airport even keeps a separate low-temperature aging fridge dedicated to holding the meat's peak flavor — you could feel the dedication.
Once you taste the tender Jeju black pork here, it's hard to think of another place — the meaty aroma is so rich and delicious.

How does the black pork neck taste?
The staff told us pork neck gets dry if overcooked, so it's best eaten right when it's cooked just enough — and the neck at Sicheong Geuttaegeujip had a quality on another level, the kind that puts a big smile on your face. The tender yet savory texture won over even my kid, who normally doesn't care for grilled pork, and that day they ate with a ferocious appetite.

Vegetables grilled alongside and the myeoljeot (salted anchovy dipping sauce)
Eating just meat can get repetitive, but here at Sicheong Geuttaegeujip, they also grill a variety of vegetables to go with it, which made it even better. From kimchi to fernbrake, green onion, and onion — all so delicious that before you know it, the meat is gone.

It's delicious even plain, but pairing it with myeoljeot or the house garlic soy sauce made me want to give it a thumbs up on the spot. The myeoljeot in particular was amazing, very fitting for Jeju.

Why the pork belly here isn't the tough, chewy cut you'd expect
Compared to regular pork belly, this cut has better meaty aroma but usually feels a bit tough — but that bias completely disappeared at this black pork spot near Jeju Airport. Cooked twice at 200°C, the meat here goes through low-temperature aging, so the tenderness felt on a different level. The distinctive chewy texture of pork belly was still there, but coexisting with a real softness — the appeal just exploded.
By the time we finished picking every last bit off the shrimp, we were saying how well we'd eaten.
For anyone pairing this with drinks, a kimchi jjigae generously loaded with meat is waiting, perfect for washing away the day's fatigue. Of all the black pork restaurants I've eaten at on Jeju trips over the years, this was the best — from now on, I'll head straight to Sicheong Geuttaegeujip without a second thought!

Since we joined an event, they also gave us complimentary sikhye (sweet rice drink) to take with us, which we enjoyed thoroughly back at our lodging. If you're planning a Jeju trip, I'd recommend having at least one meal at Sicheong Geuttaegeujip, a Jeju black pork favorite!
