Brunch at Working Holiday Minrak, a Gwangalli café: today's menu

The brunch we ordered at Working Holiday Minrak (워킹홀리데이앤나잇) was French toast and a panuozzo sandwich. The panuozzo isn't made with ordinary bread but with house-made pizza dough, and it's filled with mortadella ham and arugula.

I wanted a relaxed brunch with a view of the Gwangalli sea, and that's exactly why I came to Working Holiday Minrak.

Atmosphere inside Working Holiday Minrak

Gwangalli has so many pretty cafés, but finding one where the brunch is satisfying too is harder than you'd think. This visit was great for both the atmosphere and the food, and I got to spend a really relaxed time for the first time in a while.

Wood-toned interior and wide table spacing

The moment I walked into Working Holiday Minrak, the warm wood-toned interior and stylish little props caught my eye.

The light is good throughout, so it's lovely for photos, and the tables are spaced widely enough that eating felt comfortable. It struck me as a brunch café that suits Gwangalli's easygoing mood.

Panuozzo sandwich made with house-made pizza dough

The first thing I tried was the panuozzo sandwich. I'd heard that Working Holiday Minrak makes its sandwiches with house-made pizza dough rather than regular bread, so my expectations were even higher.

It was crisp outside and chewy inside, and the nutty flavor got more appealing the more I chewed. It was generously filled with mortadella ham and fresh arugula, and

the salty ham and the fragrant freshness of the arugula went together so well. The fillings weren't overdone, so each flavor came through, and with the chew of the pizza dough on top, it was a really satisfying brunch dish. If you like sandwiches at all, I'd definitely recommend it.

Soft, sweet French toast

The French toast we ordered alongside it was better than I expected, too.

French toast topped with syrup and toppings

Sweet syrup and toppings sat on golden-grilled bread, and it looked delicious just sitting there. It was slightly crisp outside but moist and soft inside, and it melted in my mouth. It wasn't overly sweet, so it also went well with coffee, and

it works as a brunch dish or a dessert. The more I ate, the more I kept reaching for another bite.

Relaxing with the view out the window

Working Holiday Minrak isn't just a place with tasty food; the whole atmosphere makes brunch feel more special.

Eating slowly and looking out the window, I felt like time was passing more slowly. It's good with a friend, and the mood is perfect for a date too.

Why I want to go back

I felt like I'd found a place I'd want to come back to for brunch in Gwangalli.

Window table where we enjoyed brunch

The panuozzo made with house-made pizza dough is hard to find at other brunch cafés, and the pairing of mortadella and arugula was better than I expected. With the soft French toast added, it was plenty satisfying as a full meal.

I was happy with the atmosphere, the taste and even the plating, so if you're looking for a brunch café in Gwangalli, I recommend visiting Working Holiday Minrak at least once.

Overall verdict

  • A Gwangalli brunch café with great vibes
  • Chewy texture from house-made pizza dough
  • A perfect match of mortadella ham and arugula
  • Moist, sweet French toast recommended
  • Good for dates, meeting friends or a leisurely brunch

On a day when you want to look at the Gwangalli sea and spend a slow time over good brunch, this is a café I'd love to visit again. ☕🥪🌊
