Pukyong dessert café: persimmon taerae bingsu for 4, Taerae Queen
In short
Taerae Queen Kyungsung University Branch is a thread-style taerae bingsu (shaved ice) dessert café in Nam-gu, Busan, near Kyungsung University–Pukyong National University Station. On the way back from Gwangalli Beach, a family ate in and shared one persimmon taerae bingsu and a 2,500-won iced americano, and that single persimmon taerae bingsu was big enough to fill three adults and a baby. Taerae Queen won over a whole family trying thread bingsu for the first time; for parking, use the Pukyong National University lot.

My first taerae bingsu, on the way back from Gwangalli
Taerae Queen Kyungsung University Branch (타래퀸 경성대점) is a dessert café near Pukyong National University that serves taerae bingsu, shaved ice pulled into thread-like strands, rather than regular snowflake bingsu. We were coming back from Gwangalli Beach and were craving bingsu, and then we found out there was such a thing as taerae bingsu. I'd never tried it, so I got curious and we went.

Where do you park for Taerae Queen Kyungsung University Branch?
The café has no parking lot of its own, so we parked at Pukyong National University and walked. It took about 10 minutes on foot, and you just go straight, so it wasn't hard to find! Parking cost roughly ₩4,000!

It's also under 150 m from Kyungsung University·Pukyong National University Station, so it's a good café to reach by subway too! Best of all, you can get taerae bingsu instead of ordinary snowflake bingsu, so it's worth a visit when you want something icy and cold! They even have the trendy ube taerae bingsu, and honestly, I wish this dessert café would open right in front of my house T.T

Taerae Queen menu and the atmosphere inside
Taerae Queen had a wide range of taerae bingsu, you can add toppings, and besides the bingsu there are lots of café drinks too. They also have ice cream and small bingsu, so it's good for going solo and getting takeout. We chose to eat in, and even though the weather had turned cooler, it was still hot in the daytime, so the café was busier than I expected!

How many people can share the persimmon taerae bingsu?
We ordered the taerae bingsu topped with hongsi (soft ripe persimmon). Three adults and one baby shared it and were still full. The portion was so big that it surprised me! The iced americano was only ₩2,500, and they even have dolce lattes on the menu, so we had a really good time.

I want to try the fresh melon taerae bingsu, and the milk chocolate taerae bingsu looks tasty too, so we're planning to come back for them. Taerae Queen is a dessert café famous for its many toppings and thread bingsu, so it seems like a good date spot with friends or a boyfriend. We came as a family, and none of us had ever had thread bingsu, so it felt unfamiliar, but it was so delicious. I felt like I couldn't eat anything but thread bingsu from now on. Seriously the best 👍🏻

How to enjoy persimmon taerae bingsu: cereal and mashed persimmon
The persimmon taerae bingsu came with cereal on the side, and I planned to put it on once the strands melted, but strangely they never melted, so I just put it on. The crunchy cereal went really well with the taerae bingsu. Doesn't it look amazing? And if you mash the persimmon and melt it together with the strands, your teeth tingle and your mouth feels cool, which I think would be huge in summer. I'm just sad I only tried it for the first time now.

Other taerae bingsu flavors and toppings at Taerae Queen
At Taerae Queen you can get thread bingsu in many flavors, including red bean injeolmi (rice cake with bean powder), Shine Muscat grape, fresh persimmon and apple mango, and the yogurt taerae ice cream is popular too! When I ordered taerae bingsu, it came with cute little red bean injeolmi rice cakes (?) on top! You can add toppings freely, and adding red bean or condensed milk looked sweet and tasty too.

Is it okay for group gatherings or as a meal replacement?
Taerae Queen is tasty, and it also has group seating, so I think it works as a meeting spot too. I hope students, or people who want to cleanse their palate after Korean barbecue, will drop by! It's also perfect when you don't want a full meal but still want to fill your stomach! The portions are really big, and you can enjoy bingsu plus a coffee drink, which is great!
