Seomyeon fried chicken date with dipping sauce and pineapple: Yetnal
In short
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch is an old-school whole fried chicken and dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) restaurant, a 3-minute walk from Exits 4 and 6 of Seomyeon Station in Busan. A chicken-loving couple came for the dakdoritang but switched to fried chicken and pineapple, and were pleased with the crispy, not-too-salty fried chicken, the seasoned dipping sauce served with it and the fresh pineapple. If you want classic old-school fried chicken that sticks to the basics, Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch is a good fit.

Where is Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch and when is it open?
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch (옛날통닭앤탕 서면점) is a 3-minute walk from Exits 4 and 6 of Seomyeon Station in Busan. It is open Tuesday to Sunday, 17:30–05:30, and closed every Monday. There is no parking. Groups are welcome, and takeout, delivery and separate men's and women's restrooms are available.
I heard a newly opened chicken place in Seomyeon was getting buzz, so my chicken-obsessed husband and I couldn't resist and went together~~~ ✨ People were calling it one of Busan's top three whole-chicken spots, so we were SO excited… 👀❤️🔥 It's close to Seomyeon Station too, so the location was super good.
What is the atmosphere like inside Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch?

Maybe because it's newly opened, the inside was clean and pleasant, and I liked it from the first impression!! Everything was kept spotless and the tables were nicely spaced, so it was comfortable to eat there ✨ It's easy to drop by casually with friends, and it was a relaxed place for a couple's date like ours too.

A wall packed with little notepad notes, which I haven't seen in ages, so cute ✨🍬✨🍬

What is on the menu at Yetnal Tongdak, and what is the review event?
The menu is really varied: dakdoritang (spicy chicken stew), yetnal tongdak (old-style whole fried chicken), plain fried, seasoned, soy, spicy seasoned, gizzards, Andong jjimdak (braised chicken), and side dishes including fruit!!! We originally came for the dakdoritang, but changed course to fried chicken + pineapple 🫧✨
By the way, there's a visitor review event: you can get free french fries or a drink!!! If you write a photo review, you also get a dalgona (honeycomb candy) game and fried gizzards on the house!

The basic side dishes were pickled radish, cabbage salad and shrimp chips.

How does the fried chicken at Yetnal Tongdak taste?
The fried chicken here doesn't win you over with heavy seasoning; you really get to enjoy the true taste of chicken. My husband and I love chicken so much we've tried almost every chicken place around, and it was still super easy to eat!!!!

The crispy texture and juicy meat went together so well, and it was that basic flavor you keep reaching for!!!! Salt and a seasoned dipping sauce come together, and the sauce was seriously delicious ✨🌟🌟🌟🌟

Pineapple ordered with the fried chicken
The pineapple my husband ordered with the chicken was a total stroke of genius (hahahahahaha). They seem to use fresh, tasty pineapple ✨🍍🍍🍍

How is the service at Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch, and the verdict?
Maybe because it's a newly opened chicken place in Seomyeon, I could feel care in every dish ✨✨ The chicken came freshly fried, so it stayed crispy for a long time, and it tasted way better eaten hot!!!! The staff were kind too, so I felt warm and fuzzy the whole meal… The place had a lively, new-opening energy, and overall I was happy with the service 🍥🍥

If you love chicken like we do, I really hope you'll visit Yetnal Tongdak as a Seomyeon chicken spot ✨✨ There are so many chicken brands these days, but when I'm craving back-to-basics fried chicken, I think this old-style whole chicken is the best 😭✨❤️🔥
