Korean BBQ restaurant in Beomeo-dong, Daegu: Cheongchun Samgyeopsal
In short
Cheongchun Samgyeopsal Beomeo Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant on Sangnok-ro near Beomeo Station in Suseong-gu, Daegu, opened as an expansion after the original Wolseong location became a hit. Staff grilled and cut two servings of snowflake pork jowl (nunkkotsal) and two servings of pork belly at the table, and the meal ended with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) for a properly filling dinner. Worth a visit if you want a Beomeo-dong grill house that brings out a generous spread of side dishes too.

A Daegu BBQ restaurant with a waiting line, Cheongchun Samgyeopsal Main Branch. A Beomeo-dong BBQ spot worth waiting in the rain for.

What I ordered at Cheongchun Samgyeopsal in Beomeo-dong
This is a review of Cheongchun Samgyeopsal Main Branch, a BBQ restaurant in Beomeo-dong, Daegu. I'd been craving proper pork BBQ, so I went to the Beomeo-dong main branch. This place became a hit in Wolseong before expanding here, and I'd already visited once during its opening week — this was my second visit.
That day we ordered two servings of snowflake pork jowl and two of pork belly, and finished with doenjang jjigae. Bottom line: the meat was good, but what I especially liked was that the staff grilled and cut everything for us, and the side dishes and banchan (side dishes) were on point too.
Where is Cheongchun Samgyeopsal, and what are its hours?
Cheongchun Samgyeopsal Main Branch is on the 1st floor of 20 Sangnok-ro, Suseong-gu, Daegu. It's within walking distance of Beomeo Station and close to Beomeo Intersection too, so it's easy to get to by public transit.

- Hours: Daily 12:00–24:00

Hours can change, so I'd recommend checking before you go.
Nearby you'll find Beomeo Intersection and Beomeo Station, plus apartment complexes like Beomeo Central Prugio and Ssangyong Platinum Beomeo. It's also not far from Suseong-gu Office or the Daegu District Court and Prosecutors' Office area, making it a convenient spot for dinner plans or work dinners in Beomeo-dong.

Inside the restaurant: a more relaxed space than expected
The interior is centered around wooden tables and has a warm overall feel, and one wall was covered edge to edge with autographs from past visitors. There were a lot of signatures from Samsung Lions players in particular — this really is a favorite spot among Samsung Lions players and baseball folks.
Off to one side there was cold water set out separately, which doesn't sound like much but is oddly welcome after waiting in line. I also noticed the rice they use — Baekjinju rice grown in Andong.
Menu and prices: pork belly, pork neck and snowflake pork jowl
The menu has a fairly wide variety of pork cuts.
- Pork belly (samgyeopsal) 140g ₩14,000
- Pork neck (mokssal) 140g ₩14,000
- Snowflake pork jowl (nunkkotssal) 120g ₩15,000
- Pork jowl (hangjeongsal) 120g ₩15,000
- Pork skirt (gabrisal) 120g ₩15,000
We usually go for pork belly, but we were curious about the snowflake pork jowl too, so we ordered two servings of each.

The side dishes that arrive before the meat
Once you order, the basic banchan comes out first. Lettuce wraps, seasoned vegetables, pickles, and ssamjang (dipping sauce) — mostly things meant to go with the meat, and there were more varieties than I expected.
Personally, at a BBQ place the side dishes matter almost as much as the meat, and here I could mix and match bite after bite. By the end I was actually reaching for the kimchi more than the meat.
Snowflake pork jowl (nunkkotsal), grilled by the staff first
At Cheongchun Samgyeopsal Main Branch, they started by grilling the snowflake pork jowl (nunkkotssal, 120g ₩15,000) first. Even in photos the cut looks fairly thick, and the staff grilled it on the pan themselves and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
At most BBQ places there's always that slight awkwardness over who's going to grill, but here we just sat and chatted while waiting, which was easy.
Once cooked, the snowflake pork jowl had a golden, browned surface with a moist interior. There was just enough fat that it got more savory the more you chewed, and it was less greasy than I expected. It was fine plain, but personally I liked it best with a bit of wasabi on top. If you're a little tired of eating just pork belly, ordering snowflake pork jowl alongside it is a good idea.

Two servings of pork belly with kimchi on the grill
Next was the two servings of pork belly. It came out thick as well. The staff browned it front and back on the grill, then cut it into bite-sized pieces, so we could eat it right when it was perfectly cooked.
The ratio of lean meat to fat was good, so the savory flavor really came through with the first bite. The first few pieces we ate simply with salt or wasabi, then switched to eating it with the kimchi that had been cooking on the grill. The kimchi soaked up the pork belly fat and softened up nicely, and eating it together with the meat cut the greasiness — I kept reaching for more. If you're looking for pork belly in Beomeo-dong, this basic samgyeopsal is worth trying too.

Ending the meal with doenjang jjigae
After two servings of snowflake pork jowl and two of pork belly, I was pretty full, but it felt like a waste to skip the doenjang jjigae at a BBQ place. So we ordered it to finish.
It arrived bubbling in a stone pot with enoki mushrooms and tofu, and an egg on top. The portion was more generous than I expected.
After eating meat, there was a bit of greasiness lingering in my mouth, and the hot doenjang jjigae really cleared that out. The broth wasn't too light either — it was rich and savory, the kind of flavor that naturally makes you want rice. If you want to end a meat meal with a proper, filling finish, I'd recommend getting the doenjang jjigae too.

The receipt review event at Cheongchun Samgyeopsal
At the checkout counter, there was also a Naver receipt review event notice posted. If you write a review with your receipt on the day of your visit and show it to staff, you can get pork belly for stew.
Is Cheongchun Samgyeopsal worth it for Korean BBQ in Daegu?
This time I tried two servings of snowflake pork jowl, two of pork belly, and doenjang jjigae at Cheongchun Samgyeopsal Main Branch. Personally, having the staff grill the meat for us was the most convenient part, and I also liked the variety of side dishes served with the meat.
The snowflake pork jowl was savory and tender, and the pork belly eaten with kimchi cooked on the grill was the combination I remember most. Finishing with hot doenjang jjigae made it feel like a truly complete meal.
If you're looking for good food near Beomeo Station or Beomeo Intersection, or a Suseong-gu BBQ spot that grills the meat for you, this is worth a visit. If you're after pork belly in Beomeo-dong specifically, I'd recommend ordering it half-and-half with the snowflake pork jowl like we did. Next time I'd like to try the pork neck or pork jowl too.
