Incheon gopchang platter plus teriyaki makchang: Yeonsu Gopchang

Today I'm introducing Yeonsu Gopchang in Yeonsu-dong, Incheon. I remember ordering delivery from here back when it was called Miro Gopchang, but they've changed the name to Yeonsu Gopchang 😲 This was my first time actually visiting the store!

Where is Yeonsu Gopchang, and where do you park?

Yeonsu Gopchang is about 10 to 20 minutes on foot from both Yeonsu Station and Woninjae Station, so it's easy to reach even without a car. If you park at the 'Matgoeul-gil public parking lot' it's free for 2 hours~ We just parked on the roadside though 😂

You can check the menu from outside the store, so we decided what to order beforehand. There are also set menus, so it looked like you could enjoy a variety of dishes!

Seeing a waitlist out front, I figured this must be a real local favorite 😋

Inside Yeonsu Gopchang late on a Tuesday, ordering by tablet

Even though it was a Tuesday night, plenty of people were eating. The store is pretty spacious, so we could chat comfortably while eating!

You order using the tablet at the table, and there was a wide variety of menu items - gopchang, makchang, even hot pot!

Ordering for three: the assorted platter plus teriyaki makchang

And here's the set menu we were planning to order! You get vegetable gopchang, salt-grilled makchang, mini gopchang hot pot, fried rice, and fish cake soup with liver sundae all at once, so it seemed like most people were ordering the set. The assorted platter is for 2 or more, and the special platter is for 4 or more. Since there were three of us, we ordered the assorted platter with teriyaki makchang added on!

Even the instructions for the tastiest way to eat it were written out in detail on the table, so I read through it carefully while waiting for the food ☺️

Side dishes, the self-serve corner and muksabal (chilled acorn jelly soup)

The basic side dishes were solid too. They even brought out cool mulsadaebul, which was great for stirring up an appetite on a hot day 😋

The self-serve corner was kept nice and tidy too. Just a note - mayonnaise and chive salad aren't there, so you'll need to ask a staff member for those!

The sundae (blood sausage) and liver included in the set, along with the mini gopchang hot pot, came out right away. The sundae and liver weren't dry at all, which was nice, and the hot pot was served bubbling hot so we could enjoy it warm.

How do the vegetable gopchang, salt makchang and teriyaki makchang taste?

While we were munching away bit by bit, our main dishes arrived pretty quickly ☺️ From top to bottom: salt makchang / teriyaki makchang / vegetable gopchang. Doesn't it look really appetizing?! It came cooked just right, looking tender and soft 🤤

Personally, I think the kick in vegetable gopchang comes from the glass noodles, and there was a generous amount, which I loved! And dipping the gopchang deep into mayonnaise is fantastic too - the spicy sauce and creamy mayo blend together perfectly 😋

The gopchang was tasty, but I really loved eating the makchang.

The salt makchang was delicious just as it was - plain but savory! Since the makchang itself was already chewy and nutty, the teriyaki makchang was even better 😲 Eating it together with the bonito flakes and sauce on top gave it such a great sweet-and-salty flavor.

When the drinking snacks are this good, how can you resist a drink?! Sipping on a cold somaek (soju-beer mix) made it feel like heaven right there ☺️👍

Finishing with fried rice you stir-fry yourself

Lastly, we ordered the K-dessert fried rice that came with the set. The fried rice arrives beautifully set up, and you fry it yourself at the table. There was a generous amount of extra ingredients too, making it a savory, delicious fried rice 😋
