Today I went to Ryusenso Beomeo Branch, a great spot for solo dining near Suseong District Office. Rich broth, generous toppings, and evenly cooked noodles — as a proper Japanese-style ramen restaurant, it's definitely earned its place among Suseong-gu's best eats!!

Solo counter seats and 4-person tables at Ryusenso
The interior was really clean with a warm wood-tone feel. There were plenty of 4-person tables and solo seats too — seems like there's an academy district nearby, since I saw students dropping in together after classes as well as people eating alone.

Ordering was easy through the kiosk at each table.

The signature dish, Ryusenso, is a Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen (Fukuoka-style pork bone broth ramen) made by simmering pork bones for a long time for a rich, smooth broth. Ryusenso Kara adds spice, with three levels to choose from. Level 1 is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun!!

Alongside the ramen, they also sell katsudon (fried pork cutlet rice bowl), plus a variety of sides like karaage, gyoza, fried shrimp, and potato croquettes. There were also add-ons for noodles, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, chashu, and egg, so there's plenty of room to customize to your taste~!

They were also running a receipt review event, so I joined in and got a free zero-calorie cola. They even had highballs and draft beer, so it seemed like a fine place to have a drink in the evening too.

There were step-by-step instructions for how to eat the ramen, plus careful labeling of ingredient origins, which felt trustworthy. They even had pepper, shichimi, and hair ties on hand — nice touch!! There was also a note asking you to request more broth if it tasted too salty.

Adding ajitamago egg and extra chashu to the ramen
The food came out really quickly!! We ordered Ryusenso, Ryusenso Kara level 1, and potato croquettes as a side. My friend added an egg (ajitamago) to their Ryusenso, and I added an egg (ajitamago, ₩1,000) and chashu (₩2,000) to my Ryusenso Kara, which got me three soft-boiled eggs and two extra slices of chashu.

On the left is the slightly spicy Ryusenso Kara level 1, and on the right is the plain, non-spicy Ryusenso. Can you tell the broth colors are different!

How the pork bone broth and thin chewy noodles tasted
First, I tried the broth. The rich pork bone broth was well-developed, and since it was a little salty for our taste, we asked for extra broth to be added, which made it just right!! The base broth itself was really rich, almost like milk.

The ajitamago was also perfectly soft-boiled. The wood ear mushrooms had a fun, springy texture, and the noodles themselves were thin and springy, so they didn't get boring even bite after bite. The more I ate, the more it felt like I was in Japan haha. And when I started to feel a little full, eating it alongside the pickled radish worked so well.

I neatly finished off the free zero-calorie cola from the review event too, which made the whole meal feel so satisfying. The portions were generous as well, so we felt very full even without adding extra noodles.

I highly recommend Ryusenso Beomeo Branch, a Suseong District Office favorite and a ramen specialist in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu~!~!!
