Daegu wedding hall buffet with smoked duck wraps: Stadium Convention

Maybe it's because the weather has been so lovely lately, but I keep hearing happy news from the people around me! Haha (and I've been busy preparing congratulatory money envelopes...)

This weekend I went to Stadium Convention Wedding (스타디움 컨벤션웨딩), a wedding hall in Suseong, Daegu, and the meal was better than I expected, so I wanted to share it with you!

Where is Stadium Convention Wedding in Daegu, and what is the parking like?

It was really easy to find: just enter Daegu Sports Memorial Hall (대구스포츠기념관) in your navigation and it takes you right to the front of the building! The parking lot is also very spacious, so even beginner drivers can park comfortably without worrying. Haha.

Probably because it sits inside a park, the surroundings were green and pretty, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere!

Stadium Convention Wedding bridal room and ceremony hall

The 1st floor of Stadium Convention Wedding has the reservation and information rooms, and the 2nd floor is the wedding hall. A ceremony happened to be going on. I took a quick peek at the bridal room, and it was huge and bright, so radiant that photos would surely come out great! ✨

The inside of the hall is decorated in a nature-friendly style, so it didn't feel stuffy at all and was full of a fresh atmosphere. Because it's a standalone hall, guests don't mix with other weddings, and you can celebrate cozily among your own people. It felt like a really private ceremony setting!

True to its reputation as a leading outdoor wedding venue in Daegu, the outdoor wedding hall was beautiful too.

How big is the 3rd-floor buffet, and what's on the menu?

The buffet at Stadium Convention Wedding is on the 3rd floor. Finally, the meal I'd been waiting and waiting for! Wow... it was even bigger than I expected, and my eyes went wide from the entrance. 🤩

The ceiling is high and the space feels open, so even with quite a lot of people it was a comfortable place to eat, and I really liked that.

The menu was so varied that I had the happy problem of not knowing what to eat first! The salads were super fresh too, perfect for getting my appetite going.

Japanese corner: bulgogi sushi to soy-marinated shrimp

The Japanese corner was especially amazing, with such a variety of sushi... From bulgogi sushi to soy-marinated shrimp, every single piece was high quality, and I can't even tell you how many times I went back for more. Haha.

Sashimi corner: red drum, tuna and raw salmon

The sashimi corner had John Dory, tuna, and my beloved raw salmon! You can feel the freshness just from the color, right? The texture melting in my mouth was truly outstanding. 👍

Seafood corner: snow crab, shrimp and mussels

The assorted seafood corner was piled high with snow crab, shrimp and mussels, so for seafood lovers I think this is basically heaven!

How are the live-grill steak and smoked duck wraps?

The star of the Stadium Convention Wedding buffet is the meat, isn't it? The steak looked overwhelming and was plated perfectly, so I really felt treated like a guest of honor!

The meat was cooked just right and full of juice, with a nutty flavor rising the more I chewed. It was as good as a proper restaurant. 😋

There were also smoked duck wraps: wrapped big in pickled radish sheets with buchu (garlic chive) salad, they cut right through the richness and were so delicious!

At the grill corner, tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), pork belly BBQ and pork neck steak were coming out hot and freshly grilled. Add some grilled mushrooms? Need I say more... a perfect match! Haha.

Chinese and fried food corner with chicken wings

The Chinese and fried dishes were cooked cleanly without being greasy, so I think kids would love them too. The Kyochon-style chicken wings in particular had a addictive flavor that kept my hand reaching for more!

With butter-grilled shrimp and bulgalbi (marinated grilled beef ribs) too, the lineup was so solid that I instantly understood why so many groups come just for the meal even though they aren't wedding guests.

What desserts does the Stadium Convention Wedding buffet have?

Desserts at the Stadium Convention Wedding buffet included seasonal fruit like watermelon, pineapple and grapes, plus rice cakes, cake and coffee. Even when you feel ready to burst, everyone has a separate dessert stomach, right? Haha. The fruit was very sweet, so it was a perfect finish! There was a good variety of rice cakes and cake too, and enjoying them with a cup of coffee made it a wonderfully happy weekend afternoon.

Verdict: Stadium Convention Wedding from a guest's view

This was my first visit to Stadium Convention Wedding in Daegu, and from the big parking lot to the bright hall and above all the excellent food, I was very satisfied as a guest!
