Baegot hamburg steak date: double patties, Toowoomba pasta: Jeongssi
In short
Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch is a handmade hamburg steak and pasta restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Avenue France Orange Building in Baegot, Siheung. On a date with her husband, the writer ordered the double-patty hambak (hamburg steak) for 15,500 won and a mildly spicy Toowoomba pasta for 11,500 won. The complimentary tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and retro tableware gave Jeongssi Hambak the feel of an old-school Western diner. Verdict: the juicy handmade patties make the double-patty hambak a must-order next time.

A Baegot date with my husband at Jeongssi Hambak
Today I went to Jeongssi Hambak in Baegot with my husband! It's famous as a Siheung handmade hamburg steak (hambak) spot, so I'd been curious, and I finally made it! It's on the 2nd floor of the Avenue France Orange Building, just so you know.

What is the atmosphere like at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch?
Overall it feels like a clean, tidy Western restaurant. I was surprised by how nice it was inside, much better than I expected! That day there were couples on dates, families eating out and group gatherings, so it really seems to be a well-known Baegot date spot, right?

What we ordered for two at Jeongssi Hambak, with prices
- Big hambak, double patty (₩15,500)
- Toowoomba pasta (₩11,500)

Complimentary tteokbokki and retro tableware at Jeongssi Hambak
Right after you order, the first thing to arrive is tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) as a free starter, and you can get one refill only. It's a basic complimentary dish so I didn't expect much, but it was tastier than I thought. The tableware had a retro feel, like something from an old-school snack bar. It really gave off the vibe of the gyeongyangsik (old-style Korean Western) restaurants where our parents' generation went on dates, you know?!

If you write a Naver receipt review you get one ade or cherry cola, and if you join the Instagram tag event you get one bottle of soda, both free, so keep that in mind!
Side dishes from the self-serve bar
The self-serve bar at Jeongssi Hambak had kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), jalapeños, pickles and more. They were great to nibble on between bites of hamburg steak and pasta!
How does the double-patty hambak taste?

The big hambak at Jeongssi Hambak (₩15,500) comes with two patties, so it was really filling, and ordering the big size was a great choice. From the very first bite the juices filled my mouth, with no dryness at all, and the moist texture really impressed me.

My husband cutting the hamburg steak for me, haha. Does it taste even better, or is that just my mood..?! 🙈

They told us they make the patties and the sauce themselves. And yes, the moist patty was delicious.. After one bite I understood right away why it's famous as a Siheung hamburg steak spot, haha.

The meat was tender and the handmade sauce on top went so well with it. Especially when I popped the runny egg yolk and ate it together, it got even richer and nuttier. Eating it with the salad refreshed my mouth too, a perfect combo.
Is the Toowoomba pasta at Jeongssi Hambak too rich?

The Toowoomba pasta (a creamy, spicy pasta) at Jeongssi Hambak (₩11,500) was slightly spicy, so I could enjoy it without feeling weighed down by the cream. We ordered it with the hamburg steak and I was happy with this one too! Toowoomba is often heavy and rich, but Jeongssi Hambak's was different.

There were also 4 shrimp in it, plump with a nice bite, which I was happy about.
Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch in one line
- Moist, juicy handmade hamburg steak
- Recommended for a date or a blind date with a nice atmosphere
- A roomy restaurant that also works for family meals and gatherings
If you're looking for hamburg steak in Baegot, or a handmade hamburg steak spot in Siheung, I recommend Jeongssi Hambak! Next time I visit, I'm definitely ordering the big hambak again! Haha.
