Nampo-dong karaoke bar: seafood jjamppong noodles, Juju Norae Town

Juju Norae Town is a private-room karaoke bar on the 4th floor of Gwangbok-ro in Nampo-dong, Busan. The writer ordered seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), kkwabaegi (twisted doughnuts) and Daesun soju, worked through a generous side-dish spread of tteokbokki, fried eggs, old-style patbingsu, bungeoppang and ramyeon, then paid for an extra hour of play. Verdict: a clean, spacious room with zero lingering smell — great for a soju room plus karaoke night with friends.

Nampo-dong drinking spot for stone-pan offal: Bupyeong Yang Gopchang

Bupyeong Yang Gopchang is a yang gopchang (grilled beef offal) restaurant on Bupyeong 2-gil in the Nampo-dong area of Jung-gu, Busan. Arriving around 9pm after a first round of drinks, the writer ordered the small stone-pan seasoned offal with a glass noodle add-on and a bottle of Daesun soju, and even the small size came with four chunks of daechang plus heart, tripe, mushroom and potato to pick through. The springy, snappy texture of the offal was the best part, and Bupyeong Yang Gopchang is now a stop on every Busan trip.
