Daeshin Peanut Bread Busan Seomyeon Branch (대신땅콩빵 부산서면점) lets you try the famous Daeshin peanut bread, the kind people line up for at Daegu's Seomun Market, right in Seomyeon, Busan. I absolutely love crunchy, nutty peanuts and have bought the peanut bread near my own neighborhood plenty of times, so when I heard Daeshin had a branch in Seomyeon, I made the trip.

I wanted to see for myself why so many people go out of their way to come here, and the moment I took a bite, I understood.

How does Daeshin's peanut bread taste?

The peanut bread is golden and crisp outside, moist inside, with a rich nutty flavor. Daeshin, known as a Seomyeon Station dessert spot, says it uses the only in-house dough recipe of its kind in Korea, but what really beat my expectations was the amount of peanuts packed inside.

It's not peanut bread in name only. The peanuts really are the star, added so generously that the richness filled my mouth with every bite.

How to make soggy peanut bread crisp again

If the peanut bread goes soggy, they say you can microwave it for 30–40 seconds and then let it cool for about 1 minute, and it tastes like freshly baked.

Ice peanut bread, recommended by the staff

A Daeshin staff member also told me it's delicious as ice peanut bread, so I put some in the freezer. I'm already looking forward to taking it out cold tomorrow. They say it keeps its crunch while giving you a different, chilled kind of fun, so it should be another new taste.

Free 150g peanut butter event, 3–7 p.m.

At the time of my visit, Daeshin's Seomyeon branch was running an event: spend ₩10,000 or more between 3 and 7 p.m. and get a 150g peanut butter free. I happened to arrive at exactly 3 p.m., so I was really lucky. I got the peanut butter as a freebie. It was an unexpected gift, which made the visit even nicer.

The peanut butter has a rich peanut flavor too, so I think it would be good spread on the bread, or with crackers or sandwich bread.

My husband loves peanuts, and I'm sure he'd finish everything the moment he got home and found it, so I tucked half in the freezer to eat later as ice peanut bread, haha.

Who is Daeshin peanut bread a good snack for?

The peanut bread is great as a snack and pairs even better with coffee or milk. It's fine for kids, and for adults it has a nostalgic, old-fashioned snack feel, so I think people of any age can enjoy it.

If you're looking for a special snack in Seomyeon, I'd recommend Daeshin. The generous peanuts, the crisp texture from the in-house dough, the only one of its kind in Korea, and the rich nutty flavor all satisfied me.
