Today's post is about a spot my boyfriend and I visited because I was craving meat — Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Wanjeong Station!

Is there really a wait on a Monday night at 7:30pm?
We went to Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi on a Monday at 7:30pm and there were already two parties waiting ahead of us. I figured a Monday evening would be quiet, so... what is going on here?

I was surprised there was a wait even on a weekday Monday evening, but after eating, I totally understood.

Let me show you why so many people come here!
Aged meat right as you walk in
As soon as you enter Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi, the fridge full of meat is the first thing you see. From pork belly to pork collar, everything is laid out beautifully, and the meat clearly looked fresh.

Knowing this place has a wait made my expectations climb even higher!
Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi menu and prices

- Aged Jeju pork collar ribs 180g ₩16,000
- Aged Jeju special cut 160g ₩16,000
- Black pork sausage ₩10,000
- Pork skin 150g ₩10,000
- Golmok kimchi stew ₩8,000
- Golmok doenjang stew ₩8,000
- Water cold noodles ₩6,000
- Spicy mixed cold noodles ₩6,000
- Meat noodles ₩6,000
- Nurungji soup ₩5,000
You order using the tablet on the table. We chose the aged Jeju pork collar ribs! After the meat, we also added kimchi stew and bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles). ><
A generous spread of side dishes

Once we ordered the meat, the side dishes were set — salt, wasabi, doenjang (soybean paste), saeujeot (salted shrimp), green onion salad, myeong-i namul (wild leaf greens), all the essentials when eating BBQ!

And what was special here was the aged baek-kimchi (white kimchi)! You can eat it as is, but grilling it together with the meat made it a real standout.
Do they grill the meat for you?
Here's what I think is the biggest advantage of Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi — the staff grill the meat for you!! They grilled the thick Jeju pork ribs perfectly and cut them into bite-sized pieces!!

We didn't need to pick up tongs at all, just waited and ate, which was so convenient haha. Watching the meat turn golden brown while waiting was basically torture... they grilled the white kimchi alongside it too. Finally, the first bite of the finished Jeju pork ribs!
Wow... it was genuinely so good.!!!
Since the ribs were thick, I worried they might be dry, but not at all. The texture was tender with savory juices, and I kept reaching for more. That's when I truly understood why there was a wait on a Monday evening haha.
How to eat Jeju pork ribs the best way
First bite, just the meat plain. Then dip it in salt with a bit of wasabi on top~

I wrapped it in myeong-i namul, then also tried a piece wrapped in the grilled aged kimchi.

And a bite with the mel젓 (fermented anchovy sauce) that came alongside!!!
Personally, the combo with aged kimchi was my favorite! The savory, golden-grilled pork ribs paired so well with the umami of the aged kimchi.
And of course, Koreans can't skip rice!! White rice with meat and wasabi kimchi...! Ah, the perfect combo >< diet starts tomorrow!!!
And the spicy golmok kimchi stew
After eating meat, you naturally crave something with broth.!! So we ordered the golmok kimchi stew!

Inside were big chunks of tofu and pork!! One spicy spoonful and the greasiness from the meat gets completely washed away~ A bite of meat, then a bite of kimchi stew, and suddenly you're craving rice too!
BBQ definitely calls for bibim naengmyeon

We ended with bibim naengmyeon of course. It's tangy and spicy and delicious on its own, but you have to save a piece of meat to eat with it right? >< Putting a piece of Jeju pork rib right on top of the noodles was seriously the best!

We kept saying we were full but ate every last bite and walked out completely stuffed haha.
Living up to its reputation as a popular BBQ spot near Wanjeong Station with a wait even on weekdays — the flavor of the meat is truly top-tier...!!

What I loved most was that they grill it for you, so it's so easy and comfortable to eat.!! If you're looking for a spot near Wanjeong Station serving aged Jeju pork grilled for you, I recommend Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi!
